On Mon 17 Jan, BBC One screened what they described as the "first in a new series" of Traffic Cops, following Cheshire Police. (I happened to record it on my DVD recorder, and it has a date stamp).

And the following week... nothing. For eight weeks, no more episodes from the promised "new series" materialised. I could find no explanation for this on the BBC website.

Then I saw another episode advertised for tonight at 8.30pm. In the press it said this episode was following South Yorkshire Police, which suggested it was a repeat from the last series.

But to my amazement, tonight's episode is a repeat of the one shown on 17 Jan! (To be more precise they've cut the 17 Jan episode into two halves, as that one was 1 hour long and tonight's is only half an hour).

A BBC One prime time show being repeated after only 8 weeks??!!!

YES

I was expecting a fresh new South Yorkshire episode as the description didn't seem to click with my mind. As soon as I switched BBC One on the phrase 'Cat and Fiddle' instantly made me realize the episode had been on before, not too long ago either!

And then they had the cheek to cut half of the show out, including the trucker who preferred to dress up as a lady Rolling Eyes

Also found it strange to hear so much language before 9pm. 'S' wasn't bad but I'm sure I heard use of the 'Bo' word.
