Toys R Us are opening - or at least planning to - a new store in Times Square, New York. Could have something to do with a massive corporate shake-up they're having, trying to change their image a bit?

Yellow Pages and Coca Cola have ruined their ads. They've both changed the music.

The magic of seeing that little boy stand on the YP's and kiss the ugly girl is wonderful. But they've added stupid music and ruined it.

cat-Yes that could be a reason,That's the problem with companies.
And yes,the Coca-Cola ad last year was terrible without that 'Holidays Are Coming' theme.

I wasn't aware of the music changing for the Yellow Pages one?

Pushing sarcasm aside (which is actually quite a momentous occasion for me), the traditional Toys 'R' Us ad is a personal favourite. I adore the theme, have it on mp3, and agree that the cartoon should continue.

i liked the advert too, i suppose there are so many competitors now, image is everything - and toys change so often, maybe it needed a little adapting - at least we still have the music, (does anyone know if the full toys r us theme mp3 is available on the net?)

comparing the ad to the argos (that STUPID 70s song), and toymaster (andi peters) adverts which appear every christmas now - the toys r us advert never made me want to change channel - but those two do!

I saw the ad on telly for the first time last nite... it's odd they've kept the music mentioning Geoffrey when he's not seen on screen tho... all the ppl seeing the ad for the 1st time wonderin who Geoffery is...

The Crowdman-Yes,people first seeing it (Where have they been?) would be wondering who on earth he is-The manager?Very Happy

BTW,the new form up isn't that good-a spinning Toys R Us logo and a still 3d shot of a shop-See one of my earlier posts in this thread for all the things I liked about the old one.

L'espoir SETV est parvenu à l'enregistrer!

Geoffrey is still used in store! The main bit of the music is kept, which is more important than the animation! They HAVE to show products over the music! That's the whole point of the ad! Just showing a 'clean' version of the ad doesn't make people shop! if it did they wouldn't change it!
