Not sure the team name is required twice on the Départ.

Isn't the point the they show the shortened code and flag with the full team so you can join the two when only the code is shown?

Ah that makes sense when it's not Sky.

Well - like everyone else, I was getting bored with the France Televisions Sport TdF graphics set - but, wow -
To think someone signed those off as acceptable for broadcast.

The leaderboard graphic (which I assume was designed to show more of the helicopter beauty shots than previously) as Cartlton Kirby (the Eurosport lead commentator) said white text is lost on white background. Wouldn't be so bad if there was a 20/30% translucent grey background to that caption.

Timing captions were all over the place, with the stopwatch stopping around 500mts before the line with some cyclists. No name/time comparision caption with the leader either.

Expected better. This looks like it was knocked up in Powerpoint in the car on the way to the OB compound yesterday morning.

By the way (cough, clears throat) I notice one of the new sponsors of the race is Bostik. I hope that sticks around for a few years...

it dosent look too bad from the screenshots dvboy, thanks for that, but i imagine the leaderboard graphic must have issues as theres no background behind it, I'll have to watch it today to pass judgement.

Eurosport player has it's usual plethora of feeds

ES1 - Channel as broadcast

EP1 - Native commentary free (and advert free) feed
EP2 - Finish line
EP3-7 - Moto1-5

(has ES2 Superbikes, ES2 Comms free and two EP feeds from the EuroU19 comp too)

Very impressive yet again.

Even a drop shadow would help... putting a faint box would lose the style they're after.

I do like the idea and the old ones were boring me. Just needs a new tweak.

In 'race mode' they don't look to bad, (top left leader>peleton/yellow jersey and distance to go graphic is a bit too big for my tastes) but interesting they put a grey background in the leading group speed graphic (last screenshot provided by dvboy) so wonder if it's used only when needed.

Like the idea of having straight to air camerabike feeds on the Eurosport player. If only the gyroscope camera on the helicopter was an available option as well. Would happily watch that all stage long watching France drift by from 1,000ft up.

I have a Roko stick and for some reason the Eurosport Player isn't available on that platform - and I refuse to watch anything longer than 30 mins hunched over a pc screen.

It's a shame Eurosport can't time their ad breaks and commentary properly. Sometimes we go to a break mid-sentence, sometimes come back from one mid-sentence. It's not like the commentators aren't aware of them because they do mention going to breaks but it's being poorly done.

And.. when Eurosport are on a break ITV4 are still with the world feed coverage, and vis versa!

The break takes are a puzzle. They are obviously timed on a 'hard' junction basis - but it's like the UK play out is slightly off sync and ahead with main mothership playout, hence the mid sentence cut off.
