Did they use the filmic look throughout all of the show for last week's edition, or just for the performances? (Missed it as I was at work)

It makes little difference as to which evening TOTP is on as it's still up against Emmerdale. I prefer Sunday as it gives the show freshness following on from the Top 40 on Radio 1, which I imagine many of TOTP's target audience do not listen to for fear of wanting to commit a nasty crime against the current Top 40 presenters...

Also spotted one of my mates in the audience during one of the links standing behind Fearne on Monday's show...

They have appeared to have given up on the filmic look for now.

By the way(I haven't checked this recently though, so they might have fixed it !), but on the BBC TOTP website where they list the archive performances since 1964, on a recent show, they put Madness down as performing 'Sorry', not Madonna.

I'm sure there's some other mistakes from recent shows on there too, but I can't check at the mo, unless anybody has a list to hand & compare.

Anyone watching this Streets thing on BBCi ?

Anyone know long it's on for?

I started taping straight after TOTP on 2, but it had already started!

It would have been nice if BBC i could've waited until everybody switched over from BBC 2 before starting the show.

(I wanted to watch Corrie & Mayo ! (Yes I am the 'Mayo' viewer !))

Now I don't know if I've got one complete showing or I've got to piece it together from two or more showings?

Silly sods!

Don't worry, it's on a loop! The actual show lasts about 15 to 20 minutes I'd say.

Hmmm, according to tonight's 'Express & Star'(regional newspaper for the West Midlands), the Beeb might be breaking the law with TOTP, because it is filmed(their word!) in front of a live audience!

Hammersmith & Fulham Council which covers BBC TV Centre, is in talks with the Beeb to ensure this Sunday's TOTP does not breach the
Licencing Act.

Council attention was drawn after last Sunday's show, which featured an open air concert by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

According to a council spokeswoman, they were concerned studio recordings may also fall foul of the act, which would also affect other music shows(I guess they mean 'Later') in the building.

According to an interview with the 'Today' programme, it depended on whether it was private or public.

If there wasn't an audience for TOTP, there wouldn't be a problem!

Surely this should have been sorted out years ago?

This is one of those things which has been put to the back of the in-tray, by all accounts, for way too long; until finally it's come full circle and bite them (totp) on the arse*

Which countys does the Express and Star cover? Been from Shropshire I simply seem to remember the Shropshire Star been the dominant paper.

They're both part of the same group, along with Telford FM (I think?).

Express & Star covers, with several different local editions, South Staffs, West Mids & North Worcs generally, breaking down into Walsall, Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Lichfield, Birmingham, Kidderminster, Dudley, Stourbridge etc. (I'm sure someone will come up with a full list if poss!)

Yeah, I think that explains it. The Shropshire Star does seem to cover the 'other' areas, Shrewsbury, Telford, Oswestry, (to a degree North Wales) and Ludlow.

This Sunday's TOTP is extended to an hour and will feature further coverage of the Red Hot Chili Peppers "concert" in front of TVC.

Nice to see Jo Whiley back presenting after eight years last Sunday, at times she showed Fearne up to be the irritating sycophant that she tends to be. Liked Jo's comments about Shayne Ward after the album chart rundown. And how does she look so stunning for her age?

I agree with that, given that it's the first time in ages I've watched a full TOTP.

The show seems to have improved considerably since I last watched it.
