Good news (well, dpenends on your view, but for me its good news)
TOTP will NOT be in 16:9! www.bbc.co.uk/whatson confirms this- look at next fridays listing. ! It has W/S nest to every 16:9 programme but guess what? No W/S tag next to TOTP!

Proof - in the B+ supplement of this weeks Broadcast magazine, is an advert for the post production and graphics facility M2. One of the examples is for the Top Of The Pops awards 2001. Guess what - same logo (although looking at it now, it does seem a lot more 'slivery' than of now)

Sorry folkes, no scanner so can't post a piccie of it. If you want a butchers, time for a trip to WH Smiths..!

I read the article on that in Broadcast today and they said 'the logo would be tweaked' - whatever that means.

Probabally slightly changed- like SportsBod said, it looks more silvery (dunno, I dont read broadcast). i think the logo has had its day (IMO it had its day back in the 80s- and it hadnt even been created back then!)

It was the same, but the music was slightly changed, and I think the logo was the same - Can't remember

Tonight's the night... the big switch - interesting to see the new Star Bar - probably bits of the old TOTP@Play set, but still... anyway, TOTP are trying to copy CD:UK by doing interviews but I don't think it'll work 'cos after next week it goes back to half an hour, which is half as long as CD:UK, but have the BBC realised this? (BTW I know CDUK has ads and is shorter in GP weeks, but less tracks on TOTP probably means the show will feature even less actual music than before...) still, whatever, I'll be tuning in (if I make it home from college by seven...)

I was at TVC on Wednesday and saw the a brief glimpse of the new studio, beacuse of the backdrop i couldnt see much of it from where im standing but this is what i could make out-
black backdrop
piano keys on the floor and wall though this may just be for one act
things look different on telly but to me its a black background with lots of colour through the lights etc
