There still could possibly be a TOTP2 Christmas special this year on BBC2. I recall it was last year that the BBC announced they were axing TOTP2, but it came back for an xmas special on Christmas Eve (Or Christmas Day I can't quite recall) on BBC2 last Christmas.
But for the main Top of the Pops Christmas special, that should remain on BBC1 on Christmas Day, that is where it belongs.
However with Top of the Pops now a BBC2 show though, there may not be.

Yes but BBC One is the home ofthe childrens TOTP, so I see no reason why the main Christmas show shouldn't be on the One.
In response to your TOTP2 comment, TOTP combines both old music with new now, so I expect some old classics to be incorporated into the Christmas Day offering instead.

I'm going to miss the Christmas TOTP2. I look forward to Steve Wright introducing us to Roy Wood and Shaky.
Slade, Mud, The Pogues, W**k,sorry Wham, & bringing up the rear, good ol' Bing.
Favorite Christmas hit anyone ?
Slade & Roy Wood, plus Jethro Tull's 'Ring Out Solstice Bells' !
Jethro Tull is a good one! "Now is the soltice of the yeeeeeaaaaarrr.." Noddy Holder and his mirrorhat, Les Gray and his dummy with the 'special' snow effects!, Shaky in his knitted jumper and Levi jeans, Dana on her swing....
Well, we'll just have to wait until christmas to find out. If it isn't on, I think I can rustle up an old recording of the show from 2001 if not. That's how sad I am when it comes to christmas!
TOTP is back on BBC1 from 10th September... well, TOTP Reloaded, the new name for TOTP Saturday.
That's a crap show, those two failed pop stars ruin it by mugging and playing upto the camera
Apparently Sam and Mark have been ditched in favour of jk and joel.
I doubt that would happen at such a late stage - trailers featuring Sam and Mark have already been airing for a week or so!
Maybe they're just featuring then...but on the Radio 1 Chart Show, the lads were talking to Andi Peters regarding TOTPR, and they were discussing how he was their new boss.

Probably something to do with the chart rundown, or something like that.
I'm intrigued to find out what the "reloaded" bit means... or whether it's just an attempt at re-invigorating the show...
