Why does this seem like a bit like Takeaway / Noel's House Party? Anyone have any more info on this?

Doesn't sound like Takeaway or House Party at all to me. It just sounds like another Graham Norton Saturday night vehicle, probably a lottery show.

So essentially Graham Norton's Generation Game with the lottery halfway perhaps...?

Please BBC, give Mr Norton a break for crying out loud! Rolling Eyes

Simon Mayo mentioned this on his TV review on Monday [when talking about Ant&Dec's Takeaway] and claimed it was the BBC's piece of the takeaway action.

May I be the first to say that this is the worst programme name *ever*. Such a title should be isolated to The Disney Channel.

It's only at pilot stage at the minute...

A source close to the production told The Stage: “It’s a pilot for a potential series called Totally Saturday, which is a multi-strand Saturday night entertainment and variety show involving the public. It’s still in pre-production, but it’s taking shape.”

I agree. Although his BBC2 show is not bad.

He needs to work with an audience - not work for an audience. That's the problem.

That's actually what I thought the thread would be about, at first I was getting ready to write something like "oh God ITV aren't trying to out do SMTV again are they?!" Laughing

But ironically we're still on topic with me mentioning something Ant & Dec related, who now do Grown-Up-SMTV in the form of Takeaway. So all is good with the world, or at least this thread!

I'll shut up now...

Even then he wasn't that good IMO, he was good as Father Noel Furlong, in Father Ted, but that's completely different. Cool
