Looking at the listings (as posted their Twitter account at the end of September) Now 80s will become Now Christmas tomorrow, however, Total Country shows what looks like a Now 80s sort of schedule, so it could be continuing the brand or its just a filler schedule until tomorrow.
Just theorising, but if the channel space itself is staying and was to take over as Now 80s tomorrow, then it could be possible that the rebranded Xmas channel could be used for something else after the festive season, possibly a Now 70s channel, since I've seen some 'Now 80s Presents Now 70s' blocks in recent weeks.
First there was the rebranding of Chart Show TV, Chart Show Hits and The Vault at the start of the month, and now there's the closure/rebranding of Total Country.
Wonder which music channel will be next to bite the dust. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Trace Latina. If country music channels can't be made to work (with Keep It Country recently rebranding as well to become more of an entertainment channel), I can't see a Latin music channel working.
The technical issues they've had, and the completely wrong EPG listings, means that all of the Trace channels are in danger of being shortlived.
Outside of the non-music content on Trace Vault, do you think the precise wording of the programme really makes much difference when somebody is flicking through the music channels? I'd intuitively expect it didn't.
It could be possible that Total Country returns, but from the wording of their Twitter post, it does look as though its coming back.
The Wikipedia page is suggesting that "it is expected" (as I theorised) Now 70s will replace Total Country when Now Xmas rebrands back to Now 80s. But I wouldn't expect that to be confirmed.
