found it a bit daft that when the children screamed and the aliens bogged off that the army in Wales just stopped trying to take the children when they would have no idea that anything had changed.

They'll have seen the giant fireball fly back up into the sky and all the dark clouds vanish, and presume things were just a liiiiitle bit better as a result.

also how did the army gain access to all the schools which are locked from the inside and inaccessible without access being granted. you saw a head in one school questioning what they were doing just walking in and taking the children, you can't just walk into a school these days, army or not, you're locked out.

I'm sure what with the Jabs being authorised, School's headmasters/headmistresses had doors ready to be unlocked for doctors to come in, and instead in popped the army.

and all those children were just too well behaved to just walk out of class and onto buses, I have enough trouble at work getting 130 plus infants to stand in six lines at the end of play, and these kids, several thousand of them, just herd out of class and onto buses without question Rolling Eyes

kids who stand in lines at the end of break are gonna be a little more well behaved when dozens of the army carrying weapons are shouting in their faces and grabbing the ones that run away.

in the first instance where did the aliens find a human prepubescent child to found out that, in some gruesome inhuman way, they make a good narcotic

I'm sure something's obviously happened that we haven't seen in a TV show... Torchwood's been around since Queen Victoria, I doubt it's been televised since then!

why did the whole world just bow down to what were in effect junkie alien terrorists and let them take their children because said aliens killed all the people in one building

And last but not least... and the answer to all your questions... it's a TV show! More importantly a Science Fiction TV Show, where anything is answerable if needed. Laughing

they did threaten to kill everyone on the planet too, and if they can magic an illness that kills everyone in a building in five mins seemingly from nowhere they're probably quite capable of doing so worldwide.

I know it's tv fiction, I just like to be picky Very Happy

This was a new series (pretty much series 3) and yep the Aliens were druggies...

I thought it was an anti climax. The ending was far too rushed and I was let down, consdering how wonderful the show has been this week. The next series is going to be a bit. they can't exactly pick up where they left off. They'll probably show at the begginning of the new series what happened in the last and then say... 6 months later! and the hub underneath cardiff will be miraculously brought back to life and a new torchwood team will have somehow found their way into Gwen and Jack's little clique.
BTW, I was quite disturbed watching steven die in such a gruesome way. I think it was a bad thing to kill of Steven as retaltions were already strained between jack and his daughter!!!

I found the death of the child quite disturbing as well, especially the scientists comment that the kid will fry, and of course cliche of cliches it had to be Jack's grandson who was readily available Rolling Eyes

God if some scientist wanted to kill of my kid off with a bloody great sound wave capable of induceing a massive brain hemerage I'd be pulling all the plugs out Confused

didn't Jack have some resurrection glove in past series which could have been called into play here

Wasn't that the point (if there was supposed to be a point!?) that although a cliché, there was the irony in that originally, Jack willingly led the 1965 kids to their doom, back in present day, he had to suffer his own grandson being similarly doomed.

And the resurrection glove - it only brought people back for a matter of seconds or minutes. Can't remember the details.

guess you have a point, still a very rushed ending after all the climax

resurection sounds a bit pointless Rolling Eyes

still confused how the kids at work were talking about being drugs before the final episode was aired where we find out that the aliens use the children as a form of drug Confused

maybe they had insider knowledge Shocked

And that's probably why nobody has created a Sci-Fi drama series based on your life! Wink

And also the parallel that, while the government ministers were "not mine" about their own children, Jack realised when he had to make that awful sacrifice.

No wonder his daughter has avoided him all these years.
