After having the top up box now since December 8th, it has on numerous occasions been unable to download overnight content, fails to record the correct programmes and takes an age to change channel!
I tried to record Doctor Who and Vicar of Dibley on Christmas Day and on both occasions it recorded EastEnders, even though EqastEnderws had finished and the machine was recording in the times supposedly taken by by chosen programmes. It also failed to record The Worst Christmas Of My Life and the helpdesk number which said that the customer service lines would be open on Christmas Day and Boxing day between 10-4 were actually shut!!!

Has anyone lses experienced anything similar?

Sounds rubbish. Take it back and ask for a model that works.

Why buy something that only gives you part time channels?

At least with SKY/Digital Cable, you would get the full output of certain channels, & not an odd 2 hours per day every 3rd Wednesday with an R in the month!

Either fork out for SKY / Digital Cable, or stick with Freeview.

There's no point inbetween IMO !

Get TVDrive, all together better than Sky+ and Top Up TV Anytime.

Cable. If you can, you should.

From what I've heard the TV Drive boxes are very unreliable. Also, if your not in a Telewest (or certain NTL) areas, you can't get it, unlike Sky+ which is countrywide.

I think Top up TV was always a waste of time, and the bandwidth could be much better used for freeview.

Anyway, TUTV should give up while they're going strong(ish) instead of wait until the inevitable bust.

You could even stick a Quad LNB on the motorised dish and connect it to a Dreambox PVR (which has the software cam for VideoGuard installed). That way you get everything, including the Sky Subscription Channels (with a valid viewing card of course), plus the functionallity of a Sky+ box, but on all the channels in every position the dish can turn too. Now that's what I call a setup!

yep that is my Dream setup too, but I am happy with my Technomate as it also acts as my emergency digibox, just in case the main one goes belly up and channels from 19E and 13E Wink

I wish they would get rid of all of the TUTV slots & put them to better use, such as ABC 1 on for 24hrs. The channel has so much potential but restricts it schedule due to the Freeview restrictions.

I would also get red of Sentana & whatever the Porn channel is called now.

It's called FREEVIEW, pay tv channels shouldn't be on there IMHO
