Top Gear

Moving to BBC ONE (February 2020)

I do think it should be on BBC2 but I guess it'll air on BBC1 in the late summer, so be out of the way before Strictly returns, and then in March/April after Call the Midwife finishes. Whether they'll cut 12 episodes of Antiques Roadshow a year or just bump that an hour earlier as often seems to happen remains to be seen.
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.

I suspect it'll remain on BBC TWO in a repeat slot too, possibly in a revamped Friday evening.

Echoing what's been said earlier, it's also a shame to see more of BBC Two's homegrown shows get pinched by BBC One. But I do hope this leads to BBC Four eventually merging into Two. Two is such a lost cause right now and there's probably a lot of decent stuff on Four that doesn't get as much exposure as it could. It'd be a shame to see yet another BBC channel disappear but... okay, I'll be honest, it does my nut in and my OCD flares seeing One, Two and Four on my EPG.

I'd say BBC2 is still relatively strong in primetime at least - I probably watch it more than BBC1 at the moment (I'm not watching much more than the Six Nations on BBC1 at the moment).

Be interesting to see what replaces it. I seem to remember Two initially struggled to replace Bake Off.

I think a repeat showing on Two is likely. I'd have said the Monday 7pm slot as it had been repeated there in the past, but now Mastermind has moved to 7:30 that's unlikely, unless of course it will air during the Quizzy Monday break

Probably a simulcast of the news channel.

They could probably get several quizzes Monday style shows for the budget of Top Gear so would be worth looking for another then having an hour long block on two nights.

Top Gear can be repeated any night at 7pm really.

Yes of course, it was all some exec's fault wasn't it Rolling Eyes

He certainly didnt help, he deliberately briefed against the show and the DG to the Mail & Murdoch rags - but if you want to take a blinkered monochrome view it was all Clarkson's fault Rolling Eyes

Over the weekend, I watched the show for the first time in about five years and really enjoyed it. Right mix of presenters and was fun to watch

I had that thought the other day. Saw a trailer, looked fun, didn't anger me. I'll probably give it a go.

It's not a 'blinkered view' it's actually what happened, not some fan boy conspiracy theory

TV host punched and racially abused colleague.... TV host got fired. Simple as that.

If he tried to undermine the show then that's a seperate issue. The show's still going so he didn't get his way

Cohen deliberately briefed against the DG & Clarkson for his own gain, try reading Private Eye for what actually happened, nothing to do with 'fan boys' just fact. After Clarksons punch he had to go however the show was deliberately briefed against for personal gain.
