I have just watched Top Gear on the Dave Channel and it is a show from just a few weeks ago on BBC2. How quick to Dave get each new series of Top Gear now?

Also they took an axe to the programme and edited out a lot of material such as the News section and other bits so to fit it into 45 minutes for ad breaks. Why cant they show it in full with 15 minutes extra left over for ads.

I found it really annoying. Did anyone else see it on dave?

A couple of weeks ago i took a few days off work as i was feeling proper ill ( it was man flu Wink ). Top gear on Dave was the highlight of daytime television. It showed some oldies and the previous weeks top gear. Dave has got to be one of the bestest channels on freeview.

I was rather surprised to see the current series of Top Gear on Dave, with them starting at the first episode, they mainly kept in the task to find the best Road to drive on in Italy, Switzerland etc, heck they even kept in that 5 second shot of James May in the nuddy.

Yet they cut out the News bit and when they started to light up with the special Porsche pipes.

Does anyone know if and when UKTV along with Dave will go into proper widescreen soon?

I have seen some Top Gear on Dave from the 2006 series which is broadcast not even in the 14:9 compromise but in a terrible cutdown 4:3 with a terribe look to it.

I was wondering if they will ever change to full widescreen. I wish ITV1 News would too.

UKTV will switch in spring 2008, and ITV News early in December.

Some say that the "cheap car for under £x00" concept is tired, and that the boys will run out of ideas soon. All we know is that's called "Bull ****".

The British Leyland bit was great, Especially Jeremey's Rover P1 Laughing

The week before was a bit of a weak episode as they had two reviews and a silly bit at the end (the motor home racing), which kind of answered the question "should they have more reviews in the series?" Answer, No

The lads are still on form & I hope they continue to do so for many years to come

I have been ill and out of school all week and Top Gear on Dave has been a great pick-me-up. It is my favourite TV show, hence its initials in my username.

The task in which the boys had to buy aging super cars for £10,000 or less and drive them from Bristol to Slough doing challenges along the way was hilarious, especially when May arrived with his car on the back of a tow truck and when Clarkson said he had got a low insurance quote on his because he had told the company he was a doctor.

Top Gear is a programme that will never get old as there are new cars being produced every week and the boys are so entertaining they will never lose audiences. As long as they are willing to carry on, it should.

Balls, I knew there was a "1" there somewhere, the SD1 was notorious for poor build quality wasn't it?

The only thing that was really any good from British Leyland was the logo:

Unfortunately not conistantly used on their cars
