Instead I've actually just deleted all those off topic posts. Essentially a few members were having their own debate and derailing the topic badly. Maybe this will encourage those to not waste their time writing lengthy off topic replies here in future.

She'd have to half her salary to take on the poisoned chalice - £450k for the DG compared to £900k at ITV according to this.

I'd say she's on much more than £900k once bonus pay is included. But that's only half the picture. If she assumed the role of DG there would be pressure to give up any business interests (shares etc).
