Can someone tell me what Dec said before they started the actual Grab the Ads game? He said we can't speak to the callers... what was the reason?

The *real* reason is the show was pre-recorded this weekend, due to the ITV strike.

Which he should have known about considering he replied a few times to the ITV strike thread but I guess he's just out there to annoy.

Note that on UTV the names didn't come up on screen, typical UTV!

And wasn't that Win the Ads women a dozy women, I wanted her to lose!

Did anyone get the name graphics come up?

Here on Scottish we got nothing.

In reply to the first post, it was: "for reasons beyond our control"... (yes, namely the programme had been pre-recorded).

So when Ant 'n' Dec launched the competition and said you could win £8000, a trip to New York, £1000 in the bank, a sofa, a CD player, a suitcase, hair gel, a newspaper or a bag of crisps. they were lying as it wasn't possible to win all of those prizes? It was only possible to win a sofa, hair gel or a trip to New York. Three prizes that had already been predetermined at the time the competition was started.

Isn't that illegal, or at the very least against some Ofcom rule(s)?



By the way, there was a 'ping' noise when the name graphic appeared. Did viewers of Scotish and UTV hear that?

Yes, but the clean feed is deliberately clean of graphics, ie, end credit promos and IPPs so it should have been reasonably obvious to someone (given the way they were doing the competition winners names) that they wouldn't appear in Scotland or NI!

Why is it always woman that end up winning to play grab the ads??
I can't remember the last time I saw a bloke do it.
....Not that I am sexist or anything !!

Saw the names here in Anglia. Must of come from ITV in London only. The must have left it out of the network feed for technical reasons.

Your will probably see the names on the ITV2 repeats.
