The reason I ask this, is because here in the North we heard

'...and Ian White......SSS'

Which means, is it somebody ending is 'S'?

I really like Gwenan, I wish she would come back on News 24, cause I really miss her!

The '..sss' will have been from Peter Sissons. The BBC recently closed the NTA (aka Network Transmission Area aka Analogue BBC One and Two) and now both Digital and Analogue Networks are fed by the DTA (Digital Transmission Area)

This means that the safe analogue clock announcement is broadcast on both analogue and digital networks, and the UK Today presenter is no longer announced on BBC One DSat.

Also the 'Press TV and button One' or 'We're sorry we can't bring you your local programme' announcements directly before UK Today have been ditched on digital and analogue respectively. Instead a simple 'Now on BBC One - UK Today' or similar is broadcast on both (with all regions hopefully opting over the analogue one!)

This means the balloon symbol before UK Today is now only 10' - until very recently it was 15' to allow for the longer announcements.

I believe he only presents the 'graveyard' slot on UK Today!
i.e during Breakfast

...and if it was Sophie Raworth, he would have heard '-th'.

Well, at least you added another post to your total, eh Ryan?

Just another problem, Ryan, none of those presenters would be presenting the Ten O'Clock News! Or at least it would be very unlikely. After Michael Buerk and Peter Sissons, its George Alagiah, and then Fiona Bruce (who's only ever done it once).

Which is such a shame, I've seen Nicky do a few bulletins and must admit he's a very good presenter. Perhaps people here could write to Tony Hall and ask if he could be elevated to nationals! Smile If only he read this list he could ask himself Smile

I'm sure Tony Hall went to the National Opera or something.... maybe writing to Richard Sambrook (well it's something like that)... Wink
