They have created brand-new opening titles but for no apparent reason as they are 90% the same as the previous ones. It seems to be a total waste of money as they don't really add anything new to the last opening titles.
The music has also been tweaked but to no great effect!
I thought it looked alot nicer. I have a copy, but it's about 2Mb so not sure whether it will load on here......

I missed this myself tonight. Is there anyone who can provide, or even e-mail me, a copy of the new titles? I understand there's not a lot of difference, but I'd like to have a look anyways.
Now that Trevor has retired from the news, what chance he could actually feature in one of his own reports ?
After all, Tonight with Trevor McDonald is a bit of a lie really isn't it ? It's 1 minute with Trevor at the start, 20 minutes of somebody elses report, and 1 minute from Trevor at the end.
its okay but the could have made the presentation and the studio more real, for example have a background which you can see people working and Sir trevor should host more interviews on this programme himself
the "with Trevor McDonald" bit of the new logo looks like such an afterthought. It's looks like a really basic text caption, like something from the 1970s, unlike the "glassy" version used before.
Looks like they want it to be easily adaptable for a post-Trevor era (

I was about to make a post about that myself.
They seem to be committing the cardinal UTV sin as well of using a blurred Helvetica/Arial font. Cue the graphic design police...
To my ears they've done the same with this theme as they did with The Bill: turn a distinctive and instantly-recognisable theme into a load of bland mush. Not clever.
