Another of Jason's pointless ramblings. They are presenters, they chat to callers and guests and some even do their own shows. They are not simply 'announcers'. Maybe you once auditioned but failed miserably Jason, you sound very bitter.

Hmmm, Okay. http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I find that quite amusing actually. One of the main contributors to a website dedicated to discussing the subtlest of differences between one style of presentation and another, flaming someone for making a point. Where exactly did I say 'just' an announcer?
If someone's main line of work is telling television viewers what is on next and later on that station, that person is an announcer. What's the problem with that?
I work in the IT industry. My main role is providing detailed technical support for my company's products, getting deep inside the hardware and software and providing detailed solutions for customers. It's a very people-focussed role, and most of my time is spent talking to people on a one-to-one basis. Now occasionally I am asked to design and build an infrastructure for external companies. Does that make me a Systems Integrator? No, it does not. It's just a minor part of a (very rewarding) role. But I would never devalue the role of the Systems Integrator, as it is an essential part of the company just like mine.
The fact that my place of work is absolutely nowhere near the TV industry as well is an example of how silly it is to assume things about people. I would never seek to devalue a certain line of work, which is exactly what you have done with your ill-judged comments.

Well wasn't that what you was doing, devaluing the work of childrens TV presenters by <knocking your head on the table> and calling them announcers ?
Oh, and I didn't like your attititude to the other posters in this thread in your earlier comment. The expression 'ffs' seems very arrogant to me, it seems to me you think your opinion is more valid than there's and came across as highly patronising.
Oh and I'm not the slightest bit interested in what you do, who you are or what you are about.
All I know is that you appear very arrogant. But anyway, I'm all about Peace & Love really, so let's agree to kiss & make-up on this one, in the Season of Goodwill and all that.

Out of all of them Stephen Mulhern is the only good one because he doesn't overact to stuff. Plus he's been there since CITV relaunched in May 1998.
It is weird because at the start of 2000 there was 4 Stephen (98-Present), Danielle (98-01), Nicola who wasn't there long and Tom who was only there for a year and a half! These people aren't going to get good jobs because no one reconisges them execpt kids under 12.
Does anyone remember CITV on ITV2 ? I thought it was a good idea that but they got rid of it.

Well Philipa Forester & Zoe Ball were on CBBC in the early 90s when I used to watch. Phillipa has done a few things since leaving, I think she still presents Tommorow's World and has done special things like Total Eclips in 1999 with Michael Buerk. And Zoe Ball has had her own Breakfast Show on Radio 1 and has been on TV on numerous occasions.

I knew it!!! They all though I was mad!! Ithought there was a fourth person, who disappeared shortly afterwards! I can now sleep soundly at night.
Myself, I think something has been planned for a while. The introduction of the new people in September seemed very underhanded to me. They had a vote to select 2 out of 4 people, then decided 'oh well, the vote was so close, we'll have 3 instead'. Did ITV have any intention of listening to viewers, as I somewhat doubt they would change their minds about paying 3 rather than 2 in such a short space of time.
