Please forgive me for indulging a little, bit it seems, according to many many sources including many of today's weather reports on the BBC that we are in for some *very* heavy snow similar to that we had in the early 90's nexy week... and I am really excited ... some says up to 15 inches of widespread cover!
Chris Tarrant has been saying that temperatures could go into double minus figures next week... but The Weather Channel (which was the only place I could find a forecast going a few days into next week) was saying temperatures are only going to be between +6 and 0C... but they have snow forecast...
Perfect excuse to get the Ceefax Christmas discs out again I think!
Edit: Bit ironic that the starter of this snow-related topic is called SNOW-don!
As an excitable teenager in the early 90s, I don't remember any significant snowfall then. Are you sure they didn't mean the early 80s? I remember getting snowed in for five days in early 1982!
Well the BBC Weather forum now has a special 'Snow for next week' forum and amature meteo's everywhere are preducting very heavy snow... good looking forcast at weather.co.uk for Birmingham next week
Who knows, we may even see the BBC "Winter" idents make an appearance whilst this cold snap lasts... it might seem a little strange to any areas that are without snow, though!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to see if the betting shop will take any bets on whether it will snow or not (doubt they will as most of the country knows its going to snow now!)

Defo a couple of feet of snow here in Wrexham in about 1995/6
