Today & Today Extra Channel 9

As we know, Channel 7's sunrise refreshed this week. As always on Australian breakfast telly the competition is trying to get back at them.
On the morning of 5/2/16, Channel 9's today announced Today Extra

I'm not sure what Australian morning TV as a whole is like, but I bet ITV are glad they have Lorraine, Jeremy Kyle and This Morning to fill the long hours. Imagine what mess they would be in if they had to pad out the whole morning with GMB.

Today on NBC is very similar with different co-hosts. 7am to 9am is the main one with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, 9am to 10am is Today's Take and 10am to 11am is Kathie Lee and Hoda.

I think the ITV approach with GMB, Lorraine, Jeremy Kyle, This Morning and Loose Women works best. Much as I don't like Jeremy Kyle, it's give a break from news and lifestyle before from GMB and Lorraine.

I'm guessing Mornings was struggling against The Morning Show hence the rebrand.
