TMF has 2 different DOGs at the same time. The Standard DOG overlayed on top of the Message Factory DOG!?!

Whats the Point in that?

Have 1 DOG or none at all! Foolish TMF

Well another screwup on TMF. I think I might start up a site on TMF and its screwups Rolling Eyes

I think no DOG or text message crap will be best Smile

Screen junk on music channels is the most frustrating sort! There's no need for 'txt-in' rubbish and people that actually spend £1 a message are incredibly silly.

Be thankful that TMF screen junk is few and far between. The Hits is disgraceful compared to TMF! TXT-IN features are what pays for the channel, TMFs txt-in graphics are nicer than The Hits anyway.

For the Record : TMF - 50p/msg, The Hits - £1/msg

Why should I have to put up with being forced to see other people's messages though (and before anyone starts that old chestnut of you are watching the video, not the graphics, may I ask how the hell you can ignore such s h i t e being slapped across the screen obscuring part of the video)?

I really couldn't care about what people declairing their undying love for some guy out of the Blazing Squad, for thir boyfriend/girlfriend or 'biggin' up to da Kingston massiv' (whoever the hell they are). All I want to see is the fecking music video. Mad

Perhaps the messages should be subtitles, therefore they could be turned on/off.

I agree with you. Reading my post back it looks like I'm defending TXT-Chat features. I'm NOT. I hate them as much as you, maybe even more. I was just talking from the channels point of view.

I would personally prefer no graphics at all. No DOGs either, but they probably think of piracy as a reason for keeping them.

I love it when they screwup because its a chance to get the TV capture card getting free vids. Shame still generic TMF dog Sad

TMF been having problems for just over 9hrs now Shocked

Just think how much money the EMAP channels are making. They get you to phone in to request songs at extortionate rates. Along with competitions and gimmicks every 15 minutes. They also have the txt in zone type thing, and they still show adverts!

I love music videos, but HATE msuic channels as they are the ones who shove the most on-screen crap on-screen out of anyone and it's really getting on my nerves. Whether it's some **** theme week on an EMAP channel (they only have about 5 or 6 and rotate them regularly), MTV tellign us it's either X days to go" for something (Like that massive thing they had for the EMAs, and VH1s unignormable on-screen **** for the 100 "greatest" pop culture icons) or "tonight at 10PM" or "coming next", MTV also have a particular love for TRL at the minute having a massive graphic on for most of the day reminding us to watch at 4:30. Also scrolling banners- many of the MTV channels use this (MTV even have it during programmes), MTV Hits are the worst as they have it over msot of the videos and 9 times out of 10 it's telling me to press red, which, being on NTL, I can't, which just makes it even worse! Please music channels, ditch the on-screen crap and let us watch videos! Even 2 years ago you weren't pasting this shíte on our screens.

Just gone through some old videos to show yout he difference between The Box in 2000 and Now. It's obvious which one is infinitly better:

No contest- Small DOG, no additional junk Vs big DOG & massive additional junk.

Then again, it was much better in 1997 with no DOG or on-screen playlist

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/box1997d.jpg

And in 1999 when there was no DOG, but the on-screen playlist was coloured & two-tier

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/box1999.jpg

Also, remember when the playlist used to make way for people when they called up?

That stopped when The Box changed its graphics in 2000 (there was still infinitly less clutter than now, mind)

Not that anyone really rings any more becuase of the proce hikes, hence I don't have a cap of the current phone graphic. Plus I don't ever tape off The Box anymore because the screen's too cluttered.
