I have to say, those channels going will be no loss. They were hardly the strongest brands, and the only thing I can ever remember seeing on either of them is ancient repeats of A Place In The Sun. I reckon TLC (aided by its EPG position) could become an established brand.
A very different TLC to the one that was here years ago, it's changed quite a bit (although I notice that 3 of the for 'reality' programmes on that page were British formats) I was hoping we'd been spared 'Honey Boo Boo'
Does this mean that the Discovery name will only be used only used on the main channel
Yes, it was mentioned in the Challenge thread (after being discovered by Paul Akinbola) a while ago. Challenge's channel number on Sky is now the same as Freesat.
I'm not exactly within the target audience of this channel but seeing all of their billboards on the way to work it's surprising just how dreadful the channel looks. I like trash TV but I don't like the poorly produced trash TV that comes out of the US and I don't really think many Brits (even within the target audience) are fans of the tedious manner in which they're edited. TLC seems to be selling itself on these programmes being the lifeblood of the channel (along with a handful of Lisa Snowdon fronted things). I can't see it being as successful as they'll want it to be.

It would be interesting to know what Discovery Networks International would consider good viewing figures for a channel such as this - then compare them to the actual figures.
