I do recall CBBC continuity doing its links from the studios/sets of its shows in the week or so before the CBBC channel launched in 2002, clearly to give them time to install the set and so on in TC9.

I actually have a video of the final link from the last Friday on CBBC One before the rebrand, somebody originally uploaded it to YouTube but took it down, luckily I ripped it before it was deleted:

Gotta dig that remixed theme music.

And Jake Humprey in his days before F1!

Was that hosted by Vanessa Feltz? If so I'm sure there was another one from the set of Family Affairs.

If only because I was a student at the time, I remember that the Vanessa one was a weekly show called Talking TV, clearly invented to give her something to do after The Vanessa Show was axed, whereas TV Revealed was a live show presented by Gaby Roslin that ran every day for a week. It spun off from those days when they'd do all the daytime links from Albert Square and all the shows would be 'stEnders-related*, and was presented from Elstree, usually from the 'stEnders set but I remember one show coming from the Kilroy set, which was also at Elstree.

* Going way off topic but the best ever BBC1 daytime gimmick was Red Hair Day in 1997 when all the regular shows like Call My Bluff had ginger guests, Kilroy was about "is red hair any good then or what?", they showed a TV movie about Lucille Ball and they even got Nicholas Witchell in to read the news. Shame they didn't do more silliness like that.

See, this is the kind of thing I was getting at when I started this thread. Two channels/programmes both broadcasting at the same time with two galleries but interacting with each other in some way. It's a pity that we don't get to see what was broadcast on Price Drop at the same time as this was shown on Bid.

Here is another example of Bid TV and Price Drop linking up, despite what was said earlier in this thread, I don't think it is that common for this to happen. I'd love to see Bid, Price Drop and the all-new Speed Auction link up one day. Anyway, two clips this time because I recorded both channels. Sarah Hendy and former Avago presenter Rachel Hopkins are on Price Drop while Mark Ryes is on Bid TV. Although they link up, neither party listens to the other, they just talk over each other.

If you press play on the first clip, wait about a 2-3 seconds and then press play on the second clip, they should be more or less in sync.

Price Drop TV (does contain nudity, so if you only watch one clip, watch this one)

I'm not sure if I am the only one still interested in this but here is an example of The Big Breakfast appearing on BBC Breakfast.

It's strange to think that at the time of this clip (4th August 2000) Richard Bacon was a minor celebrity and Jenny Bond was a serious journalist whereas now they have pretty much swapped roles. I expect Jenny Bond already has a rabbit costume and is just waiting for the next edition of Young Voters' Question Time so she can run around in the back of shot behind Richard Bacon.

EDIT : I wouldn't be surprised to see a Sky/BBC crossover during the F1 coverage at some point this year. I'm sure it already happened a lot when Martin Brundle did his grid walks on BBC One, he would often push in front of or sometimes speak to broadcasters from other countries. With both the BBC and Sky having presenters there this year, I think they will end up speaking to each other in some capacity before the year is out.

That's actually the Thursday - they were with The Saturday Show on Friday as they rehearsed for the following day.
I agree, that short-lived remix was rather good, but it does seem odd to see it alongside the rebrand studio!

I saw Lee McKenzie pop up on the Sky coverage of F1 a few times at the weekend - mainly because she was interviewing exactly the same drivers as Natalie Pinkham was.

Wasn't there mocked up Sky News / CNN footage in one or two of those hyperreality docudramas the BBC ran a few years ago, like "The Day The UK Stopped" etc?

Also, Sky 1's Dream Team featured mocked up / specially recorded Sky Sports News footage.

Another example is a live insert of CBS' Late Late Show on FOX's Family Guy in the episode "We Love You Conrad"

Did the virus affect your grammar checker?

I do adore the Wrath of Khan moment in that episode, had me laughing for ages the first time I saw it.
