or a programme visits another programme, maybe. (February 2012)

Of course, the opening on ITV4 was simulcast on Men and Motors because they couldn't get it on Sky until a week later.

As were a lot of football matches in the week following.

Don't remember that.

I remember having to tune it manually especially for UFO episode 1!

I remember a ITV4 ON MM dog in the corner of a UEFA Champions League match or two I seem to recall... back in the day when ITV had more than one match a week and would show one on ITV1 and one on ITV2/4.

According to my research:

it was Chelsea vs Betis on launch night (Liverpool were on ITV1), and then two nights later it was Middlesbrough vs Dnipro.

I saw this mentioned sometime ago on another forum, but there was an episode of St. Elsewhere that had a crossover with Cheers, and a scene with two doctors from St. E sat in the Cheers bar with Sam, Carla, Norm and Cliff all featuring.

Here's one for you. Some TV Forum members may remember Brainteaser, the Channel 5 game show that spent a large part of the programme promoting the viewers puzzle and almost treated the game element as a inconvenient nuisance that got in the way of the viewers call-in competition.

After a while they did a spin off show on YooPlay that just had the viewers call-in puzzle. This shared the studio with the main Brainteaser programme and sometimes started before the main programme had finished.

This example might be slightly fake, I'm not sure that awkward handshake was broadcast on Channel 5 or if it was just for the benefit of YooPlay viewers but it gives you an idea of how it worked.

I sadly do not have a copy of the Channel 5 broadcast but I've learnt to live with that fact over the years. In time, you will too.

Knowing Jonny Gould as I do, I suspect that handshake was entirely genuine!! Laughing He's really like that. Also he gets frequent ribbing for doing Brainteaser.

[Technically not one channel visiting another, but one programme!] - Just been reminded of a BBC1 daytime show, TV Revealed, which did links from Albert Square - but that is a singular memory from one episode (c 2000), I've no recollection of what the show was regularly like...

Was that hosted by Vanessa Feltz? If so I'm sure there was another one from the set of Family Affairs.

Now you mention that, yes - and I'd all but forgotten about Family Affairs as well (I only ever watched the first ep because it was newly-launched Channel 5, although I think a mate of mine had a number of them taped!)

I do recall CBBC continuity doing its links from the studios/sets of its shows in the week or so before the CBBC channel launched in 2002, clearly to give them time to install the set and so on in TC9.
