Warren isn't the worst comedy I've seen recently. This Time was funnier, but I think at times it suffered from being over-edited (one camera cut was an obvious break in continuity) and I thought Alan's toilet-on-a-train routine was too over-the-top and bordered on cringe-worthy, and not in the usual good Partridge way.

I wish they'd made something of the accidental swearing as well, as I can't suspend my disbelief enough to believe this would be going out post-watershed.

I'll watch again but I'm not sure it's got enough room to avoid getting repetitive if they're going to stick with the format of the half-hour broadcast episode.

Plenty enough to enjoy in that episode- especially the correction email from Shell and Alan’s hacked email / search history.

I enjoyed: "I'm a married woman I'll have you know." "Oh I was told you were separated."

That was the first belly laugh of the night from me.

What - not Alice Clunt?

I'm not a classic Patridge fan so didn't go into it with any expectation - just appreciated that BBC were at least trying with an hour of new fairly mainstream comedy on a Monday night and hoping that at least one of them hit the mark. I wouldn't say either completely did but both are worth a second viewing. Can't help thinking Warren would be better if it was Gary.

They kept the best bit until the end, with the interview with the hacktivist and the cringe-worthy a*** licking of Emily Maitlis in the lift.

Going by that episode, Alan has certainly bounced back, but as Whataday mentioned, I really want to see how the dynamic between Alan and Jenny goes in the next few weeks. However, credit to the actress for mastering the faux Alex Jones style of delivery.

There were definitely some great moments in it (Clunt!) but it felt a bit flat overall to me.

Suspect the comedy we’ll all be talking about over the coming weeks will be After Life rather than this. There’s a huge buzz growing around that.

The most interesting part for me was when Lynn was bad mouthing Jenny to Alan. I want to see how that turns out. Also it is interesting to see how the show proceeds with Alan not as the primary host. We are used to seeing Alan at the centre of his world, and now he is a temp.

Incidentally, Coogan owns one of the apartments at TVC.

They must have filmed it in both Television Centre and Broadcasting House. The main studio sequence filmed at Television Centre with the lift scene filmed at Broadcasting House. When you look back at the end scene, there is a cut between Alan walking out of the studio and heading into the corridor. I suspect that is where they stopped filming at Television Centre and cut to Broadcasting House filmed scenes. Around the 27 minute time on the episode.

I think Lynn was underused, but hopefully she will be seen more in the upcoming episodes. I don't think it's anything amazing, but will stick with it for now.

I'm pretty sure the 'studio' parts were done at Twickenham Studios. I remember reading a comment last year to that effect. In an interview in The Guardian last week a journo said it was done last summer in a 'studio in South London'.

No disguising BH though. As you say, the cut between the two at the end was the full screen shot of Alan's back as he was perusing the hacktavist out of the studio.

Nice to think there was a mid-sized TV studio on the third floor of BH though.

Enjoyed the show, certainly felt there was enough there to laugh at (this from someone who always preferred I’m Alan Partridge to Knowing Me Knowing You). A few reviewers have said episode 2 is better.

We are used to seeing Alan at the centre of his world, and now he is a temp.

Possibly not for long having read next week’s description which seems to imply the other presenter has died...freeing up Partridge to become permanent co-presenter. Presumably with Alan featuring in the wonderfully cringing opening titles from ep. 3!

I always assumed that would be the plot, plenty of scope for comedy whenever
Alan and death encounter each other

Thought it was good, though as always it needs another watch to pick up the little bits I missed. The sequence at the end with the lift was great. Emily has a wicked sense of humour, I know she'll have loved doing that

As for Warren. I stuck with it but really not that bothered by it. Might try episode 2 as it's not always best to judge a sitcom on its first episode. Too much setting up of characters and background. Not that I could actually work out what the 'sit' is

There is a squence in episode two (I've seen it! I'VE SEEN IT!!!!!) filmed in and around Television Centre, which is presumably what they're referring to.
