First trailer has (finally) landed for Alan's big BBC comeback:

Should be entertaining for pres fans as it looks to be a spoof One Show style programme.

It'd be a shame if it had no live audience like Knowing Me Knowing You had. I know it's mostly frowned upon but I always felt Partridge's audience-less projects felt a bit flat. Nevertheless, it's great to see him back without being buried away on Sky or in an online exclusive.

If it's a One Show spoof, a live audience would feel out of place really.

It depends whether it's a full length, real time spoof, or if there is backstage action too.

Don't the BBC already have a One Show spoof? It's called The One Show!

I think think the backstage stuff would be better without a laugh track, like Larry Sanders.

I just recently rewatched Welcome to the Places of My Life which is one of my favourite recent Partridge outings. In my opinion the film just gets better on repeated viewings.

Maybe. I think I would miss having audience laughter on I'm Alan Partridge, but it worked quite well without an audience on Alpha Papa and the Sky stuff.

But isn't there technically an audience on The One Show? Or is that just the crew cheering in the background.

It's not actually The One Show though, they have some artistic licence do put an audience in if they want. I have a feeling they won't though based on most recent Partridge.

The second series of I'm Alan Partridge had a lot of complaints because it had audience laughter, when series one did too. It had somewhat gone out of vogue between the two series

Jurassic Park! I've made watching Knowing Me, Knowing Yule practically a Christmas tradition. "Father Christmas, I hear Norfolk Rover are offering 0% finance on selected models..." Currently rewatching I'm Alan Partridge too.

I'm guessing with the promo today and that it was definitely going to be this month then we can probably expect it in a 9pm slot, Friday 22nd.

I think there will be backstage material as Lynn is involved so on a techie note, I wonder if that means video for 'The One Show' and filmic effect for everything else.
