Breakfast is having to come from the News 24 studio this morning following last night's VERY heavy torrential thunderstorms across West London. They are even using the "BBC NEWS" branded clock!
Not sure whether this is due to electrical problems or a flooded studio.
Exactly. If something's really rather interesting - as this is - you'll get more people reading it if it's flagged... and apart from the topic starter of the 170-page monstrosity which is "The BBC News Thread" flagging it, the only other way is to start a new thread.
This was the place I learned about last night's shenangigans - and I'm sure I'm not alone!
Why doesn't Breakfast use the "BBC News" branded clock as a matter of routine? The minimal clock they usually use looks odd on News24, as it's so different from the usual News24 clock.
I'm sure the Breakfast namestraps could have their alignment adapted to suit the bigger clock. Perhaps a variation of either the News24 or network news namestaps (e.g. with all black elements replaced with white, or something).
As the weekend simulcast Breakfast (or Weekend 24, or whatever it's called nowadays) has the News24-style "BBC News" branded clock, why can't weekday Breakfast?

because Weekend Brekkie is News 24 in breakfast's branding.
Due to flooding in the Breakfast studio, they were using N24 clock and the weekend Breakfast Ident, all because the control room for studio 7 was closed because of the floods.
My cousin is trainee floor manager for N24!
