I should probably be asleep by now but as seen as I was up, I thought I'd witness three BBC Two closedowns tonight.
0125 - England/Scotland - Car ident 30secs (with anno and then 12 seconds
afterwards with Car music)
0130 - Northern Ireland - Gorilla which caught me slightly offguard as they started to run a trailer and interrupted it with ident. Anno: 'Coming up the Learning Zone. Just before that, an update of the news...' at which point I start wondering what's going on! before '...and other information in a selection of pages from Ceefax.' The idents then stays on a while (shame it was static) before going into Ceefax.
0135 - Wales - Car in 4:3 which caught me offguard because I was capturing 'live' in widescreen format. Anyway, best announcement: 'Right, that's enough of that! BBC Two Wales is about to go to bed. And if my children are still up and listening, I suggest they do the same! That's until 2 O'Clock when the Learning Zone kicks off. Calls its name out at registration! Till then...goodnight' Then slow fade into Ceefax - Fantastic!
