Thomas Crown Doing Newsnight?

'Er indoors is currently trying to watch the film on BBC One (West off Astra) and keeps getting switched to Newsnight for a few seconds at a time.

Are these new Australian owners of the transmission facility completely useless, or what?

Same story on analogue and satellite NE&C.

Rather poor anno apology at the end, (talking over Sting, tsk) not to mention the blumming news part way through it. More and more like ITV everyday IMO.

I'll bet they're cracking open a few tinnies of Fosters while they're working too!

I'll bet they wouldn't give a Castlemaine XXXX for any viewers complaints either!

apparently whilst newsnight was making a guest appearance on BBC ONE the apology caption was on BBC TWO

I only saw it for all of two seconds.
I still can't quite work out how it might have happened, though.

a switching/routing cockup? The feed from TC7 *newsnight studio) was put onto the line that should have had the VT feeding the BBC1 pres suite (whatever NC1 evolved into)

It just sounds unlikely to be human error, though. Perhaps the automation software had just been enjoying a drink or two because it was Friday night..
