Presumably because it’s a mash up of Phil & Holly, Eamonn & Ruth it makes them ideal for Sunday’s where a Phil & Holly segment segment may appear, whereas Friday’s and holidays use the Eamonn & Ruth branded shortened titles.

Back to the Sunday edition I’m surprised how much original content is used and previewed. It makes sense rather than being a sole mash up of best bits.

I'm surprised they've never had Steve Wilson host the show in Phil/Eamonn's absence. He's a safe pair of hands.

I’ve always regarded him as a good presenter, but I don’t think his career ever progressed as much as it could’ve done due to the disastrous year on Live and Kicking.

Compared to the year that followed, it wasn't that disastrous.

Not to take this too far off track, but in hindsight I feel that a Trey & Katy in the traditional style of programme would have worked well, especially if they’d have had faith to ride through to Ant & Dec departing SM:TV. The reboot of L&K was all very nice and a much needed refresh to the programme (it felt back then anyway), it was only in the Scotland months that I felt things started to change a bit; though with no Katy, different producers and the confirmation of the axe they tried many things.

Holly is presenting solo today.

Phillip is unwell. Must have been short notice if they couldn’t get a male replacement. Though I think we’ve discussed before there’s more female replacement hosts than male available.

Is this the first time she's presented solo on the show?

What happened the Phil's cardboard cut out? Was that left at the South Bank or did Rylan take it home for himself?😂

I think it's quite possibly the first time Holly has presented solo. She's come across far more professional in the first 20 mins by herself then she usually does when sat next to Phil.

It might be the first time she’s presented the whole show solo.

There has been prior stints where Holly has presented half the show alone whilst Phillip goes off to record an interview.

Ben Shephard was on GMB this morning so I imagine they would have poached him if possible but he must have had other commitments.

She’s a much better presenter when she’s doing solo projects or with someone else.

I always thought that. She's very immature and giggly with Philip, which would be fine in very small doses, but it became her act. She proved to be more than that on I'm a Celebrity, and with other co-hosts like Ben or Dermot.

I'm surprised Rylan isn't camped outside the studio just in case one of the hosts is taken ill. Didn't he step in for Holly and host with Phil a few months back?
