So how come the Telethon ended? I don't remember it at all.

A mixture of the new franchises not interested in it (Carlton and Westcountry had no access to large studios like others had) and controversy from disability pressure groups where they believed that Telethon portrayed disabled people in a patronising and negative light.

The groups led protests outside the studios. Indeed on the '92 Telethon some members of the group had invaded the Telethon studio during live transmission, a clip of which was on YouTube but seems to have disappeared.

Telethon ....

Also remember this was the start of the hey-day of the Wogan Children in Need run. The ITV Telethon in 1992 having 'earned' much less (£16M) than the 1990 version (£25M). The alarm bells rang and the fear of further dilution with the resulting embarrassment added to the other cancellation pressures mentioned above.

Lack of studio space wouldn't have been a problem, some regions used OBs for some of their segments including the ones for London

Ruth and Eamonn were just talking about them both doing ITV Telethon back in the day on today's This Morning Sunday. They even both hummed the theme tune together!

Holly and Phillip are off this week, so it’s a full week of Eamonn and Ruth on This Morning.

Another ridiculous article by the Daily Fail saying that the windows in the new studio aren't actually windows and were "revealed as fake" on Friday's show when they went black.

In another scoop, apparently Phil and Holly aren't actually miniaturised people who sit in the corner of your living room every morning.

Rochelle and Rylan presenting today.

She was a guest on GMB this morning too.

Does this mean they'll be presenting This Morning on Sunday? (Usually recorded on Friday afternoons).

Don't suppose they used the new titles featuring Eamonn and Ruth this week.

I'm surprised they've never had Steve Wilson host the show in Phil/Eamonn's absence. He's a safe pair of hands.
DeMarkay and watchingtv gave kudos

Not that I've seen. They only ever seem to roll them on the Sunday editions. I'm guessing they'll be using them during the summer run.
