It was barely even a title sequence. So much about what they did at the start of the 2001/2 run was odd, like they'd been taken by suprise and had to knock up a show at short notice.

That's not the full title sequence, it's just a break sting.

Couldn't find a video for the full title sequence.

The titles were no different to the break sting (preceded by the presenters teasing what was coming up on the show)

Remember, she instigated the issue in its entirety. As a broadcast journalist, she broke the most basic rules of the profession - do your research, know your facts. Surely that's the minimum expectation of a broadcaster before they make any kind of allegation on national television?

That's assuming the "facts" we've been spun following the fall out are accurate. You're quite right in what you say - which is why something still doesn't add up here.

I find it inconceivable that her agents (again, sister companies with Phil's agents) would decline an offer from BAFTA without consulting her, or her manager at least.

My feeling is that she would have declined an invitation anyway 'due to the tour', but not being aware of an invite gave her licence to feel affronted.

Either way, it's done now and it's certainly exposed that a rift exists, which I feel is probably better for the programme overall than covering it up.

In those days This Morning would go off for the summer, but when they were on during other school holidays they would show cartoons during the programme.

Remember the first time they went through the summer, which I think was 2005, and they decided to really change the tone to a more "holiday" vibe - I think it was Richard Bacon and Denise Van Outen hosting? Didn't really work. They went off air again for summer 2006, straight through 2007 and 2008, off for summer 2009 when ITV was in financial trouble but I think they've been more or less on without stopping since September 2009.

I remember Denise presenting but can't remember Richard Bacon. Those presenters are fine for the fluffy stuff but when it comes to the serious stuff that's where they are weak.

Yes, Denise & Richard hosted the first This Morning Summer, but as buster said it seemed like a very different programme rather than just a continuation of This Morning. It was rumoured they wanted Denise and Johnny but it didn't happen for whatever reason.

Did This Morning celebrate its 30 years by remembering the immediate successors to Richard & Judy in 2001.......Twiggy & Coleen Nolan at any point? No, thought not! Blink and you missed them.

Yes they did. Did you even watch the prime time documentary where they interviewed Coleen about it and showed clips and press cuttings from that era?

Quite a sizable chunk of the documentary considering they were only on air together for about a week.

I'm guessing the events of Tue 11th September would have taken the heat off the show a bit as that particular news event made everything else seem a bit trivial in comparison.

Indeed that is quite good timing looking back. Twiggy presenting after 9/11 showed that she just wasn't up to the job. Thank god they paid her with John in the days after.

Is that what happened directly after 9/11 then? I might have posted previously about wondering if the show was off air for a few days to make way for rolling news. Richard and Judy's C4 show didn't start till the November, so it must have been extremely frustrating for them as journalists not to be on air.

The documentary actually had a clip of the first post-Twiggy and Coleen programme- Monday 10th September. So that change happened before 9/11 (and presumably was made by the end of the first week).

Who remembers the charitable black bear called Hope that This Morning did in the aftermath of 9/11? My mum bought one at the time which is still boxed. I'd love to know how much they raised with this for the World Trade Centre Disaster Fund.

Yeah my mum has one too.

I have a feeling there was no programme on the day after 9/11. Had R&J still been at the helm they'd probably have run an extended special.
