To be fair, a lot of ITV talent is signed to James Grant like Ben Shephard, Eamonn and Ruth to name but a few. It's no surprise that a lot of the cover presenters tend to be James Grant talent.

And Davina! Don't forget Davina.

James Grant Group have a grip on ITV Daytime ; network needs to freshen things up.

No one group like this should have what appears like a monopoly vice like grip on a national broadcaster, it's quite an unhealthy and almost closed shop kind of arrangement. No wonder ITV is a merry-go-round with the same cliquey faces time after time.

But as already mentioned, that list of stars is extensive and includes all the big names.

It’s also no different to how the BBC use their own names regularly. We’ve had two new daytime shows announced today, one with Nick Knowles and one with Matt Alwright, both BBC regulars, also their new daytime quiz is hosted by Dan Walker.

Eamonn Holmes has liked a few tweets that say him and Ruth weren't in the documentary enough.

He's not happy and rightly so considering Ruth is the longest presenter of the show.

I get that Holly and Phil are "the brand" and "the flagship presenters" but it doesn't sit right with me they have to step back from the light when it comes to awards and recognition.

No one should. Fair enough maybe if it was a celebration of recent achievements of the show, but it’s for the past 30 years which Holly and Phillip have contributed to just as much as Eamonn and Ruth, Richard and Judy and of course Fern.

That’s why excluding them from the documentary and also the BAFTA tribute was a big error in my opinion. They’ve a right to be unhappy, just as much as Fern was when she believed that she wasn’t invited.

Important to distinguish between someone liking a tweet because they have been kind to you and liking it because you agree with it.

Incidentally, I know "Phil and Holly are the brand" has become a bit of a running joke here, but even though I have used that as a justification for not including anyone else in the titles, it doesn't mean I agree with it.

THIS MORNING has always been the brand, even when people referred to it as Richard & Judy. Now it's This Morning with PHILLIP AND HOLLY.

During the BAFTA night there was a lot of talk about the show belonging to the viewers, and how it would regularly hit the headlines for breaking new ground and making a difference. Alan Carr then read out a list of ridiculous items such as the girl picking up a tin of beans with her fanny and they were all from Holly & Phil's era. Even Phil sounded embarrassed to admit this.

Phil introduced their wedding special today with ""All the invitations were sent out. Hopefully everybody got one and they know they've got it."

Petty, and he won't come out well from it. People like Fern.

This has always happened, in the early days Associated-Rediffusion contracted its entire light entertainment output to the agent Jack Hylton for a few years, so if you weren't in his stable you wouldn't get on. Similarly Des Lynam talks in his book about how when he started on TV he was told to get an agent and they recommended a man called Bagenal Harvey who had more or less every other BBC sports presenter on his books, including David Coleman and Frank Bough.

Des wondered if it was a good idea to have the same agent as the people who were competing for the same jobs as him, although he didn't sign for him in the end because they had a meeting and Des hated him. And when he came back from the meeting he was asked what had gone on because Harvey was moaning about him and he was "a powerful enemy".

Was hoping he would clarify the situation on that and he should apologise to Fern for the #MemoryLoss hashtag.

It's ironic that this morning have a #BeKind campaign and that is everything but kind.

I think he might have been criticised by some for not mentioning it, so to make light of it in passing at least ensures it's been addressed.

Remember, she instigated the issue in its entirety. As a broadcast journalist, she broke the most basic rules of the profession - do your research, know your facts. Surely that's the minimum expectation of a broadcaster before they make any kind of allegation on national television?

It seems to me that, rather than make any enquiries as to whether an invitation had been received, she went into a state of high dudgeon and effectively sulked. Worse, it appears she made a premeditated a decision to taint a programme's landmark occasion by venting her entirely misplaced displeasure on said programme. In my view, she was unprofessional, immature and lacking in any class or grace whatsoever.

For those complaining that Ruth and Eamonn aren't given any airtime other than their Friday show, Phillip and Holly are nowhere to be seen in this VT Wink Laughing

It's always fascinating seeing the behind the scenes of a TV show. I think they mentioned on the BAFTA tribute that the presenters get there around 7.30-8.15 although I think when Eamonn was doing Sunrise, it always got there much later.

Tyne Tees was the noted experts in creating anthology series that the ITV network could contribute to, e.g. Dramarama. Hence Border TV contributed to This Morning in some way too.

You can see from the credits at the very end of this clip from 1989 that in this particular edition Border TV contributed something called ‘The Wool Strand’.
