There is a point to be made there. I know someone that calls James Grant the Phil and Holly Club. It's said to be very clicky and that they all socialise together (off circuit) like some sort of cult.

To be fair, a lot of ITV talent is signed to James Grant like Ben Shephard, Eamonn and Ruth to name but a few. It's no surprise that a lot of the cover presenters tend to be James Grant talent.

And Davina! Don't forget Davina.

James Grant Group have a grip on ITV Daytime; network needs to freshen things up.

Is it not just that James Grant have all the top presenters on their books as they are obviously seen as the leading agency for that type,of thing?

So the same company that represents both Fern and Phil (and presumably will know if there is a rift or not) assumed Fern wouldn't be able to attend so didn't pass on the invite....

Philip and Holly are represented by James Grant, but I thought Fern was represented by Troika...

I often wondered why it always felt forced whenever people from the ITV family wanted to reinforce how happy and smiley they all where, and how they're all close mates and do everything together. Now I see why.

I do think they are genuinely good friends with Ant and Dec regardless of being with the same management

I noticed Jake Humphrey is also with James Grant, I’ve always thought he’d be good on This Morning especially if they paired him with Holly who have been friends with him since the CBBC days

I'm sure he has guest hosted.

Phil is in danger of becoming a problem rather than an asset and his ego seems to be growing by the year. It is no secret that since Fern left he calls the shots.

They share a common ownership.

The discussion has gone off on a tangent with a very tenuous link in my opinion.

How is it tenuous? The agency's "mistake" is behind the biggest news story about This Morning today.

The fact that it was some how deliberate by the agency because they also represent Phil, and he told them to decline the invite.

It was mentioned that in the 80s four morning show pilots were made by different companies, with Granada obviously being the winners with TM. TVS made one with Fern Britton - do we know which other companies were involved?

Something in the back of my mind somewhere says it was Thames and Tyne Tees.
