This is looking set to be a very special show, with an epic opening featuring the Prime Minister and Phil jumping out of a plane.

Plus there's a live audience in the studio!

Fern Britton's interview cut off midway. Hmmm...

The suspicious me couldn't help but feel that was deliberate. How could they also throw to a break so conveniently as i assumed they are all pencilled in and surely you'd just fill or do next item until timed break.

The interview with Fern certainly confirms that there is a rift. Fern making it very clear that she wanted to come to BAFTA and was available but wasn’t invited.

It’s disappointing if the show didn’t invite her whether that was Philip’s suggestion or not. There’s no excuse, especially given her husband is still part of the This Morning family.

That award was recognition on the shows achievements of the past 30 years which she very much contributed to.

Indeed. She cut short her maternity leave just weeks after giving birth in order to save the programme and the jobs of all those involved, and then steered the ship through the John Leslie situation. She deserved better.

The plot thickens...

If the "invite" was as Phil Vickery's Plus One I'd have taken that as a snub.

Wasn't there a similar "ooh, where's Fern" thing during the 25th celebrations?

I wasn't overly impressed with the show they put on. No Richard and Judy for a start was disappointing. They were on for the 21st and 25th - maybe they are a bit fed up repeating themselves now?

I still don't think there was a rift between Phil and Fern. It wouldn't be Phil who sends out the invites for a start. But if there wasn't one (a rift) then there might be now.

The only parts I enjoyed were the introduction, the Alison Hammond parts, the unplanned shade from Fern and the tribute to Denise.

Everything else was fluff and meh.

They recorded a message which was played early on. Judy has retired and I expect she wasn't feeling like two hours of live television having already done the BAFTA tribute on Monday and contributed to the prime time tribute the night before.

I thought that the part with the audience members talking about how This Morning had changed their lives was a worthy segment.

As for the Telly Addicts parody, they seem to do that on every big occasion and they've never got any more watchable.

My toes are curling. My hope was that this could be resolved on twitter not more fuel to the fire!

I was hoping Phil would say I'm so sorry Fern I wasn't aware you weren't invited we wished you were there and Fern would say it's not your fault Phil see you soon.

But nope.
