Exactly! Still, I suppose they consider Ruth is incapable of holding the programme for three weeks........
What a load of tosh!
Ruth is clearly the answer. What’s to think!
She's on maternity for goodness sake!

It might be more that they want to Ruth on Loose Women, as recent events have shown the programme without a good anchor can be problematic. And Coleen who was primary cover anchor has left the programme (she might be back by then, but who know?) But also ITV might want to keep the stability on Loose Women as Ruth seems to be the main anchor these days and is already absent on school holidays to cover This Morning.

Also, if Ruth did provide cover for Holly, they'd have to find someone else to cover Fridays with Eamonn.

Of late, Ruth only does 1 or 2 days of Loose per week. Andrea does three.
Kaye and Nadia are now on the anchor rota since Coleen left.
Amanda Holden is also fine as a replacement for Holly. I just didn’t understand the urgency of bringing back Christine from maternity leave and all that hoo haa suggested in the press.

She presented with Rylan during the first week of the Easter holidays this year. I believe she has filled in for Holly a few times before that as well.
Has Emma Willis done much on This Morning since they axed the hub?
She would be quite good to stand in for Holly.

The article states she would cut her maternity leave short briefly by presenting This Morning for 3 out of the 6 weeks Holly would be away and then would share with another presenter. All very much hearsay at the moment but we shall see.

I think they see Ruth and Eamonn very much as a partnership now - it's very rare for one to present without the other unless it's last minute or just a one-off show, and with it being a lengthy break from the show it is understandable they'd look elsewhere for Holly's stand in - and in terms of actually standing in for Holly and presenting with Phil Amanda and Christine have been the first choice over the last couple of years anyway.
