I thought News Centre at TVC was demolished?

The News Centre being the newest bit at the end? The spur? It's definitely still there, walked past it an hour ago - now home to BBC Studios. However I don't think much of the interior is still there, if any. Looking at it where the newsroom was is now an atrium type affair.

The interior was totally rebuilt. The exterior looks like the old news centre, the interior is totally new.

Is there another New Broadcasting House now Manchester Oxford Road is gone?

The one in London was called that until around the time it opened when it became just 'Broadcasting House' officially. However the 'New Broadcasting House' name stuck and it is referred to as that.

Operationally 'NBH' is used a lot either where names of things were decided way back when it was being built, or to distinguish the newer parts of the building from the original which is 'Old Broadcasting House'. The reception area in the original building is referred to as that for example

The initials LBH for 'London Broadcasting House' are used internally too

That's kind of what I was getting at, the suggestion was that there are several NBHs, the only ones I can think of are Manchester (now closed) and the not quite official name of part of LBH.

The BH Belfast extension / refurb is currently being talked about as New Broadcasting House Belfast.

The old titles were effective because the daily ‘coming up’ edits were on signs, billboards and magazines. The new titles slap the edits over roads, houses and the side of buildings, leaving the titles looking very unpolished. Most of the shots do look better however, especially the shots of TVC.

I agree. I like the slow motion shots and the style of it, but the text and effects don't really need to be done, especially given the fact they do a 'coming up' segment straight after the introduction.

The main menu often isn't straight after the titles though.

Proof here that a certain Anna Soubry hosted with Richard on This Morning back in 1992.

Which begs the question as to why Richard and Judy would sometimes host the show separately and not have the same time off.

I know Richard had the most times with hosting with a different female counterpart, but I remember Judy did on the odd occasion, she had hosted with Jerry Springer before I recall.

I'm hazarding a guess that this would be when each other would host a different television series solo and that any holiday time they had, they took together?

Off topic, but what a ridiculous Granada News set, looks like a reception desk.

Yeah it was awful, that was the sign off by hitting a few keys on the keyboard era 😂.

Well Granada owned hotels at the time didn't they? Maybe they had one spare... It really does look as if the presenter is going to check your mini bar consumption before printing your bill.

Didn’t Richard host Runway, or was it the TV adaptation of Cluedo (or both)? The only show I can remember Judy hosting was ‘We can work it out’, a consumer affairs programme - consider it an ITV version of Watchdog, but I’m sure that was mid to late 90s.

Yes, Richard hosted Runway which was one of the 9:25 quiz shows. it was preceeded by the normal live promo for This Morning which meant that Richard and Judy introduced Richard's programme

I could be wrong, but I don't think Granada owned any hotels prior to their hostile takeover of Forte in 1996.

Incidentally, they had just sold their bingo halls - their former cinemas - at the time of that clip.

If Richard was doing the TM promo, he'd say something along the lines of "Here's something I made earlier - Runway!" And if Judy was doing the promo, she'd say something like "Where's Richard? Here he is with Runway!" Wink
