It's quite clear the show isn't looking for anyone with gravitas...

This is a bit of a car crash today with Nigel and Lisa. Talking over each other and a very literal autocue read.

Must admit I agree. Only watched a few minutes and I don’t think Lisa was too bad but Nigel was literally just reading words, not presenting a show. I’m not sure who thought Nigel Havers was a good fit really. Lisa with Rylan or Gok I’m thinking will work much better as a pairing.

Lisa has a history as a radio and TV presenter. Nigel's profession requires him to be skilled in learning lines and delivering them repeatedly...

Some actors are good at presenting like Michael Ball or John Barrowman but Havers isn’t cut out for it.

Lisa presented with Ore Oduba back in May and she worked well with him. I’m sure with Rylan and Gok, it’ll be much better

Nigel is a fantastic actor, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be a good presenter. I can imagine I’d say the same about it not working if someone suggested Eamonn Holmes for EastEnders.

It’s nice to see some different pairings over the summer, although I’m not necessarily sure they made the right picks (Nigel Havers in particular). The small bit I caught yesterday seemed rather awkward and forced.

Rylan, however, is a natural and would suit the main role one day. He’s got a natural sort of charisma that most presenters just don’t have. I think he’d suit presenting with somebody like Toff in the future.
