Arguably that sends the wrong message about social distancing though - particularly if some of the audience don't understand that they aren't sitting next to each other.

Agree - I think it’s been important for public awareness that this is almost exaggerated on shows like this.

As much as i think its a good idea and it doesn’t look that bad i can only imagine the amount of people that wont realise its two shots merged together and complain that they are not social distancing.

People were complaining about Eamonn and Ruth sitting together so there would be complaints either way,

It might just be me thinking this but it's definitely more noticable in the way they look at the other presenter that they're socially distanced.

I don't see the issue as long as they show the wide shot from time to time.

I think rightly or wrongly, viewers need some normality back on their screens.

Why? We're not in normal times. Throwing back to whatever is normal sends the wrong message about where we are right now.

I should say that the latest ITV daytime advert does say "not everything has to be the new normal".

Although hardly that big a deal if they have to be in boxes on the screen.

Regional weather forecast has returned today.

Obviously wasn’t shown yesterday as they covered the Coronavirus briefing.

Now it’s in the middle of an ad break. And in the case of Central, the first time they’ve produced a West Midlands only forecast since March.

This Morning has been extended and is going to be covering the PM’s speech in the Commons.

Loose Women is likely dropped today. Actually, they will be on afterwards, dependant on the length of the speech.

Surely, they should have handed over to ITV News to cover the speech and analysis?

Wasn’t it a bit short notice? And they probably thought it was worth utilising Nick and Julia.
