Davina did it last year with Rochelle.

It’s a valid point that Holly and Phil work better when they’re with other presenters but I think it’s because they have to rein in their bad habits and step up when that occurs.

Their childish giggling has had its day now. It used to be genuine funny innuendos, like when he was with Fern, but now it is forced and fake.

I think it is fair to say though that Phil and Holly have been a lifeline for many people over the last few weeks. Personally I find Ruth and Eamonn's (seemingly genuine) bickering more tiresome now.

When is the last time Phil hosted with Ruth?

I don't think Phillip has done it with Ruth since last year.

I think I am finding all 4 presenters tiresome after all these years now. Although Eamonn and Ruth are still my favourites.

I guess Phillip, Eamonn, Ruth and Holly must still be popular with the public (and advertisers!) overall.

I think the pandemic has been good for Holly and Phil as they had to step up somewhat.

I think it's been good for the show overall, not just obviously with an increased available audience but it's forced it to really think about what it does and somewhat go back to basics.

I think things had got a bit complacent in recent times.

To be fair to ITV Daytime, they have done very well maintaining the majority of their live shows. GMB, Lorraine and This Morning have all continued non stop, it was only Loose Women which had a little break, but they returned too.

ITV Daytime is a life line for people who like the live shows. BBC One gave up on any live daytime programming after BBC Breakfast years a go, with the odd exception, most of their 9.15am to 1.00pm programmes are pre-recorded or a lazy simulcast with BBC News.

9:15 was regularly live on BBC One, shows like Crimewatch Roadshow and Rip Off Britain, but true for 10:00-13:00 and 13:45-18:00

Remember the era of Kilroy, Open Air, Pebble Mill, Daytime Live, Good Morning with Anne and Nick, even live Children's BBC links at 10.25am from the broom cupboard - these all filled the morning hours up to the 1pm News through the late 80s and 90s.

what
Vanessa Feltz had a show in daytime at one point too IIRC.

Would it be hard for BBC One to create a One Show version of a live daytime show and air it at lunchtime instead of Bargain Hunt?

That was ITV at 9.25. It was replaced by Trisha Goddard, then Jeremy Kyle.
