Ofcom investigating (no surprise there):

Quote:
Ofcom has said it is assessing an incident during Monday’s This Morning “as a priority” after presenter Eamonn Holmes appeared to defend a theory that 5G was responsible for the coronavirus outbreak.

The media regulator received 419 complaints from viewers in less than 24 hours, after Eamonn was heard saying: “I totally agree with everything you’re saying, but what I don’t accept is mainstream media immediately slapping that down as not true, when they don’t know it’s not true.

“No one should attack or damage or do anything like that, but it’s very easy to say it is not true because it suits the state narrative. That’s all I would say as someone with an enquiring mind.”

About 20 mins ago Eamonn clarified his views from yesterday and made it clear that there is no proven link between 5g and the coronavirus.

Or, perhaps more accurately, read a pre-prepared and legalled statement written for him by ITV lawyers...

Does This Morning usually have multiple competitions in cycle. Had three different comps in three weeks, but all I think with May closing dates - all basically around £100k cash and two with a car too. I guess they might share some with GMB (and usually other ITV shows) so they might air the same comp in different weeks.

In short, London Live has to broadcast a public statement and could face further sanctions. ITV has been let off due to the wider context of the item and the statement read by Eamonn the following day.

Bradley Walsh just executed one of the best wind-ups in this history of This Morning. Bravo!

I hope someone can post it. Fake caller. Brilliant.
