With the social distancing currently, the opening shot of Phil & Holly looks empty. I know its only temporary, but a simple fix would be to add a screen there.

Erm, where's the picture?

Not sure they’re going to want to shell out on levitation technology in the current climate.

The shots look empty and awkward on purpose. They’re making the need for social distancing obvious to viewers to encourage them to follow it.

Its just a simple wall mounted Screen that I'm sure ITV have quite few laying around the building. Nothing flash.

Fair enough I guess. Just sharing what I would do as a TV Producer. Our presenters here in Australia are social distancing too but nowhere near as empty as that shot is. But hey, it was just my 2c Smile

Pretty flabbergasted reading the comments following the mock-up of the idea to place a television screen between Phillip and Holly.
The notion that they need to be sitting with a purposefully huge, empty and ugly gap between them in order to coerce people at home into practising better social distancing themselves is absolutely mental.
As if anyone's going to make any changes to how they interact with others based on whether there's a screen between the presenters on This Morning or not. Crazy.
For what it's worth, TravisM661, I liked your idea and thought it very sensible.

It isn't that ugly and they don't use the shot that much, tending to split screen them instead.

Maybe you need to chill out a bit 🤷‍♂️

Maybe we've got different opinions and yours is no more valid than mine. 🤷‍♂️
No actual response to the points I made either? Could have made a lot better use of your response so I might understand your viewpoint better but never mind.

Your points being the notion was "absolutely mental" based on, er, nothing.

If it reminds one person to socially distance, it's good. At worst, it's simply showing in a slightly more overt manner that This Morning are following the rules.

This Morning would be following the rules anyway, with or without a television between them, it would just appear less ugly to the viewer.

My point which you described as being based on "er, nothing" was merely my thoughts about why having a screen would be a good idea. Phil's point about why they shouldn't have one was him giving his thoughts. They're equally valid as two opinions. I disagree with you and Phil and you two disagree with me. That's the point of discussing things in a forum, otherwise you may as well just talk to yourself if everyone was of the same opinion.

It's the difference between having a screen or having a gap - temporarily - on This Morning - it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things so let's agree to disagree.
