Holly and Phil mentioned Ruth and Eamonn today:

Holly was saying she was missing out on an interview next week and Phil said you can come in but I don't think Eamonn and Ruth would be happy about that and Holly says that's true.

At least they mention them.

Wow! Read into that what you will!

The close of today's show was... odd. A rather stilted "goodbye and see you in 2020". I really wouldn't be surprised if Phillip doesn't return in the New Year.

Don’t be so dramatic! Remember these stories are in the Sun. Nobody actually takes them seriously. They’re not addressing them as by doing so they fuel nasty rumours. They’re just remaining professional.

Also worth noting that they’ll next be on air for their extended show from 10am.

It would be odd if he was presenting Dancing on Ice but absent from This Morning.

Holly said she was sad that this interview with whoever it is will be next Tuesday, when she won't be hosting.
Phillip told Holly that could come in if she really wants to.
Then Phillip said to Holly that Eamonn and Ruth might not like it if she does come in, as if to say Eamonn and Ruth would be looking forward to doing that particular interview and wouldn't want to miss out on it either.
Holly said 'that's true'.

We know Phillip is losing popularity these days and may not be as nice as a lot of people thought, but, watching this short exchange this morning, it was obvious he didn't mean it spitefully.

Worth noting that this followed a trailer for Saoirse Ronan which the VO said ‘joins Philip and Holly. Obviously this points been missed in reports! Definitely no spite!

He was almost on her lap at the end of the programme. The kiss was a bit awkward.

Guess they'll be the inevitable "THIS MORNING AXED" stories tomorrow and then next week "RUTH REPLACES PHIL AFTER ROW" for what has become the norm the week before Christmas.

When of course, tomorrow's show is pre-empted for election coverage which is as you'd expect, and you're right that the presenter change is perfectly normal.

I'm assuming you work for This Morning considering how you speak with such confidence on the matter?

Of course Bradley Walsh and Holly are co-hosting a show on BBC One in Christmas Eve.

That won’t help rumours of trouble at the mill.
