Guess it’s easy to read between the lines and make assumptions... although it makes you wonder if we could be about to see a similar repeat of the Fern situation. That all became very false and awkward towards the end on screen.

Nothing said in The Sun about Richard and Judy either - you’d think they’d of played on that and the fact that Phillip isn’t happy about their re-introduction (albeit very minor) etc etc.

Those Loose Women promos do have a habit of rumbling on sometimes. I can recall an occasion when Phillip has made a comment about the fact he thought it was supposed to be a short promo (and raised an eyebrow) when it cut back to TM.

Be interesting to see how they play all this down next week - probably extra friendly and hyper overdrive on screen! Expect some giggle fits... although even they seem fake these days.

This article in the Mirror today suggests Ruth may not be the nicest person in the world either, with Eamonn saying "it's hard working with her" because she doesn't listen to anyone and highlighting an incident where she threw his Christmas dinner at him because she wasn't impressed with her Christmas present.

It’s hard to tell when Eamonn’s bantering if he’s genuinely having a dig or just being funny; but that’s what makes him and Ruth’s Friday partnership refreshing after Monday to Thursday with Phil and Holly!

I’m sure I’ve heard Eamonn say lots of times on both TM and LW that Ruth’s difficult to work with!

Totally off topic but I would like to see Trisha Goddard, Fiona Phillips or Anthea Turner have a go hosting on a Friday.

I think Trisha would try to take over too much. She's best where she is, on Loose Women. She was good on Friday's episode.

Anthea has been a contributor before, presenting some segments.

Fiona would be good and she worked well with Eamonn on GMTV. Her husband is the This Morning editor, Frizell.

I have enjoyed it when Davina has presented it when the 4 main hosts are away. I think she would be good with Eamonn.
It would be great to see Fern back for a short stint as well. Her and Eamonn would also be a good pairing.
But Eamonn and Ruth are already a great watch, so nothing needs to change really.

They’ll open today’s show from the sofa, sitting with their backs to each other, in pretend ‘sulk’ mode, in faux reaction to all the things said in the papers. “Apparently we hate each other and I’m overbearing”.

Then, cue the first of many monologues and gigglefits of the day, showing an outpouring of genuine love for each other.

Eamonn and Ruth will then appear LIVE by satellite from Belfast, where they will further poo-poo the nonsense which has been printed in the press over the last few days.

More giggle fits and outpouring of love.

Then we’ll cross to Loose Women for the preview, where Phil unfortunately will have to cut-off Andrea mid sentence. She’ll be “in on the act” and will feign disgust and incredulity over Schofield’s rude behavior.

Back to TM, and more giggles and love.

Then Phil and Holly will appear as surprise guests on Loose Women. More love and giggles. Ruth again LIVE from Belfast by satellite, with a very awkward satellite delay which causes even more unrest in the tabloid ranks. Ruth and Phil talking over each other, with Andrea trying to mediate and everyone ending up laughing together, whilst Coleen takes several large sips of water from her mug and rolls her eyes to the camera repeatedly...........

.......and THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is how I got my latest job as Trash News Editor at The Sun*

*Other tabloids are available.

Pretty sure that's tongue in cheek.

Amanda Holden talked about Phillip on her radio show today. She offered Ruth her support, and said she is glad other people are standing up for themselves.

Just an observation watching parts of today's episode, Phillip did seem quieter and Holly seemed to take the lead a little more. There were a couple of people commenting on that on Twitter too.

I'm guessing the whole segment before the coming up menu was pre-recorded considering they were back in the studio without sounding out of breath.
