I believe there have recently been changes in the management structure at ITV Daytime.

It's the fact Phillip could've let Ruth finish, then shorten his link to simply: "Mama Mia in a moment, but first, here's the competition."
It just seemed a little unprofessional.

Ruth's 'official complaint' against Philip is apparently in regards to this incident in April:

Of course I'm highly dubious that this is factually correct - given it's the directors fault than Philip's as it's the director who will be shouting in Philip's ear to interrupt and move on.

Ruth didn't look too impressed but I can't see how Philip could be blamed for this incident.

Presumably the Loose Women director in TC2 has talkback from the This Morning director in TC3, so should have been winding Ruth up either via the floor manager or on talkback?

It did look unprofessional, but did the This Morning studio know how much longer Ruth was going to talk for? It could easily have been a scenario where there was an ad break coming up after that competition VT (that had to run in its entirety to get the legally required T&Cs in) and the ad break had to start on time due to the advertising minutes system.

The Loose preview always happens as soon as This Morning comes back from their final ad break - at approx. 12.15. Then they do the competition promo, then they go straight into the final segment (often a celeb interview or cookery).

It came across very rude and awkward, Phillip shouting at Ruth like that.
Phillip just loves the sound of his own voice and loves having control.
He could have just shortened his link introducing the competition. The competition links are normally quite waffly anyway.

I wasn’t aware that Phil directs the show himself, it’s obvious someone I’m the gallery told them to but in.

It’s like those stories in the Daily Express, in fact i expect they probably ran a story on that clip.

It's not like she was cut off after 20 seconds, they had over a minute and you see that sort of thing happen all the time in live TV and Ruth will know that wasn't Phil's fault. If they've fallen out it won't be over that, and if it is it is rather pathetic.

When is the last time Phil and Ruth hosted together?

It's been a while since Phillip and Ruth hosted it together. It's a shame that all of this drama has kicked off, as they actually present well together.

The last time all 4 of the show's presenters were in the studio together was at the end of last year, when I remember people on Twitter commenting on supposed awkwardness between Phillip and Eamonn:

There is a much more noticeable frostiness between Phillip, Eamon & Ruth, imo, than there is between Phillip & Holly....which I think is a load of bollocks personally.

Does anybody remember when Holly quit Dancing on Ice to do the Voice on the BBC? He was literally seething on screen when she announced it.

While I don't think there is any sort of feud between Eamonn and Phil, they're not exactly chummy.

Holly is becoming a bigger name in her own right. She was alone on The Jonathan Ross Show tonight.

Holly has been a pretty big name in her own right for a decade. I think actually she has just been smart in her decisions outside of This Morning, the security of which has given her the freedom to be so.

Phil has been lacking that big hit outside of This Morning since The Cube ended - his other primetime gameshows haven't taken off in the same way and Dancing on Ice hasn't exactly had the most triumphant return - it's just there. If they've truly fallen out and a divorce settlement is needed I think Holly should get This Morning with a new bit on the side (no, not Rylan) and the revised Dancing on Ice format only needs the one presenter and I think Phil would probably carry that better solo than Holly TBH.

When Holly had to present solo a few months back, I did think perhaps it was the producers way of testing whether Holly can be lead presenter.

Phillip wasn't invited to Eamonn's party with every one else... Holly was invited.

Oh for goodness sake! It's a click-bait article on the paper. If they are not having a go at ITV it's what the BBC costs in wages and licence.

I think it’s hard to tell if Eamonn Holmes, is any more awkward there than he is normally on TV.
