He has always come across very big for his boots.
There has to be something in it all, especially with the fallout with Fern and Amanda, and now Ruth.
I wonder how things would have turned out if Fern had stayed.

Re the political interviews this week, Eamonn and Ruth did a much better job of interviewing Sturgeon today than Phillip did with Corbyn and Johnson.

Phil is fine until things start to go wrong, after which point he starts to slowly turn into the Incredible Hulk, on This Morning particulary probably not helped by the fact he has been up since silly o clock in the morning!

He was starting to get very obviously frustrated at some of the contestants in the most recent series of Five Gold Rings!

On the one hand it reads very similarly to the accusations made about Simon Cowell in the US about the star of the show thinking they're untouchable and everyone being too scared to do anything about it.

On the other hand you realise it is written by Dan Wootton and actually amounts to little more than Holly asking Phil not to make her look like an alcoholic and Ruth complaining she was cut off during one promo.

That said with all shows, and indeed probably in all walks of life, an asset often becomes a burden and I think the feeling is Phil has now done his time on This Morning and it would benefit from a change, and I think if they can keep hold of Holly (despite previous suggestions they'd leave together) and make a sensible choice for her co-host (Ben Shepherd works very well with her) the show would be fine. Lose them both and they either take the risk of not going for the obvious replacements (they might not both want to do 4 days a week anyway) or finding the safe choice is a little bit too safe.

Oddly, I think Phil leaving the show would be beneficial for Holly as it would allow her to reinvent herself from being the giggling sidekick to the lead presenter, we’ve seen that when she presented with other presenters or solo that she’s a decent presenter

Matt Baker is now available for This Morning if Philip Schofield ever did leave. I could actually see this happening sooner rather than later. It's not as if Baker has a golden handcuffs deal with the BBC.

I'd honestly like to see a woman host it with Holly.
The Today Show in America currently have two female hosts so I don't see it a problem if This Morning had a similar approach for a female duo.

I’ve just seen Twiggy in an Internet cafe, tarting-up her CV........

I’m sure ITV are wary about poaching talent from The One Show given past experiences.

What works for others doesn’t necessarily work for them.

I think it’s firmly assured and confirmed in the past that they’ve stated if one of them left, the other one would too. So we’d be looking at two new people rather than one.

Really if that happened I think it would only be right that Ruth and Eamonn take over and they find a new permanent duo for the Friday and Summer shifts.

It was also firmly assured that they were best of friends. Recent reports suggest otherwise.

It’s unusual to holiday year after year with anyone who isn’t a friend though, is it not? They must be close.

Anyway. Fear not. Twiggy will soon rescue the situation. All will be well again.

The only question: will it be Holly and Twiggy or Twiggy and Holly? Or a Twig of Holly?

So many questions and so few answers...........

I’ll tell you what I find the most bizarre about the whole report: why would Ruth make an “official complaint” about someone she doesn’t even appear with?

Available but I don't think the right choice either for This Morning or working with Holly.

Can't help but notice that every time these sort of stories appear in the press, hardly anyone jumps to his defence.

Even up to the last 'insider' leak, people on social media were defending him and attacking Amanda. Only because he treated the two leaders of the main political parties differently that his getting attacked from all corners. But yes, none of his co-stars have jumped to his defence.

Much as it's the Sun, there is no smoke without fire. We already know there was a fallout between him and Fern (shame because they were great together). Clearly someone is trying to undermine and push him out.

I'm not sure that observation would come as a shock to many people. Eamonn is a time served journalist, Ruth used to be a newsreader and has worked on loads of factual shows.

Phil and Holly both started out as kids TV presenters and (outside of This Morning) are more associated with shiny floor LE shows.

I would suggest that Nicola Sturgeon is probably easier to interview than Corbyn or Johnson too.

However these were meant to be more cosy chat than Andrew Neil style forensic grillings. Would Johnson have agreed to take part if Eamonn - who I would suggest is perfectly capable of a more in depth style of interview - had been hosting that day?
