May I interrupt this thread just to say what an absolute joy it was to see yesterday’s interview with Miriam Margolyes. That lady is utterly hilarious. Conducting the interview in her perfect Glasgow accent was one of the funniest things I’ve seen on daytime tv in ages.

Poor Holly was very clearly on-edge at the beginning of the interview and wasn’t sure how to react to Miriam’s comedic responses.

Now, back to moaning and complaining about title cards, as you were........

Every interview with Miriam is a worthy watch whether it's This Morning or another show. 😂

This proves it..

Shes one of those people like Carrie Fisher and I guess Billy Connolly who almost end up making a career out of being a good guest.

Aren't Richard and Judy on record as hating the titles used for the final series which ended with them sitting on the sofa (and featured the team throughout) and it was one of the many straws that broke the camels back and caused them to leave (for a show named after them and where they featured in the titles!).

They left because they were being deliberately sidelined by ITV in order not to make the show all about them. Whether this was to futureproof the show (which didn't really work as it almost collapsed when R&J left) or to try and clip their wings, is unknown. ITV repeatedly made requests such as for R&J not to be included in certain items such as phone ins. And I think for a while the cookery items were hosted by the cooks alone.

The titles featuring the team was certainly a part of that campaign by ITV to weaken R&J's precedence, which caused them to quit.

Did that set from 2000/2001 (which I quite liked, and certainly had a better logo than the 2001 revamp) have variations for the Friday presenters of the time (Fern and John I think).

Yes.

Parts of the 2000/1 titles were reused for a makeshift title sequence thrown together as the show started to get back on its feet. There used to be a clip online but can't seem to find it now.

Sorry, you misunderstood me. There's plenty of that sequence online. I meant there used to be a clip of a post-R&J version which used the logos in that sequence combined with clips from the show scrolling across the screen

Many apologies! I sometimes feel like I should read people's posts before I reply! Embarassed Laughing

The square version used in 2002 seems to be missing online too - thought they were far nicer than the circle ones which followed.

They also had a logo/titles with a flower behind and I think that was lowercase "this morning" we had a 9/11 bear I think with it on.

The version used in 2003 was online before. It was like the 2002 version except extended using a cheap swivel transition.

Did This Morning airs at all in the days after 9/11, which I think was the second week of Twiggy/Colleen but John had already been bought back to co-host with one of them.

Yes, it aired for the rest of the week, albeit in a shorter form, sandwiched by ITV News.
