I hoped we'd seen the back of James Martin! Anita is good, though This Morning is a very different beast to The One Show, so I am not sure how she will get on.

Anita has done loads outside of The One Show. Watchdog, Countryfile. All covering wide subjects.

Yes she's more of a presenter/journalist hybrid so she's perfect for the serious stuff and I'm sure she has a fun side too. It's nice to see a new face on the programme too.

Well unless you are a 'hassled mum or housewife' the view here is an irrelevance. He's a seasoned presenter who has was at the helm of the hugely successful Saturday Kitchen for 10 years. Popular with the demographic no doubt.

I am neither but I am a keen viewer and fan of the show for years, so I'd like to think my view is just as important as the housewife.

That's beside the point - This Morning is quite clearly targeted towards the demographic Square Eyes mentions. That's the audience they're going after and appeal to, primarily for the advertisers.

I think someone on here mentioned that they were sick of the "make up and fashion rubbish" that This Morning does, which kind of shows how far out of the demographic some people on this forum are! Very Happy
Cando, Square Eyes and London Lite gave kudos

It is the point, he made it the point, when saying our views are irrelevant. Although I'm into all the TV pres, I'm also a big fan of This Morning.

James and Anita seem to be good, as expected there are two cooking segments with James today. Bit of a weird segment on a woman with a pet crow...

She does make him appear very rigid and wooden.

I thought last time he presented, it's a little like the one show, it was a lot better on summer Friday's several years ago when we had paddy
mc Guinness and Jenni Falconer or Coleen Nolan host.

Anita seems better than expected though

The cooking section ironically really needs someone other than James Martin, he turns into autopilot Saturday Kitchen mode and is basically totally ignoring Anita!

I'm liking Anita! James is yet again not as strong but fits right in with the cooking section.

I'm watching the cookery segment on +1. He's interacting with Anita, just as he did with guests and other chefs on Saturday Kitchen.

Anita comes over as being a tad too bubbly. That may be down to nerves, but at least they have a journalist on the Friday if they have a serious story.

I'm not sure a journalist is necessarily a requirement - neither Phil nor Holly has a journalism background. But it is true that such a background is no bad thing for this kind of show.
