Obsession? How many times has he been on?

What are they doing, trying to make it like the one show, hope not, the one show is terrible.

It looks like that presenting duo was being kept a secret then!

I really don't understand the James Martin hate on here? The real test is to see if he'll gel with Anita over the next few weeks.

I don't hate the guy - I just do not understand why he's been asked on so much since leaving Saturday Kitchen. He doesn't really have the same Charisma as other TM presenters.

Not sure how many but he's done at least 5 shows by now I'm sure.

Just want to be clear that I do not hate the guy. He's perfect for a cookery show and that's where he really excels the best.

In my view, he's a bit out of place when it comes to a magazine show where you have fashion items, serious news etc and there's times I feel he has nothing to contribute and it feels like Holly had to make more of an effort of showing interest in most things apart from the cooking part of the show.

He's a terrible presenter

Anita is a solid choice and she'll be able to handle the harder news topics along with the fluff. I'm not sure about James Martin, he's okay but I wonder if ITV are looking for him as a future replacement for Phil or simply just another cover presenter when Rylan, Ben or Eamonn are busy.

James would be great as a regular chef for This Morning, but as a presenter doing all the other bits - I doesn't really work for me.

Well unless you are a 'hassled mum or housewife' the view here is an irrelevance. He's a seasoned presenter who has was at the helm of the hugely successful Saturday Kitchen for 10 years. Popular with the demographic no doubt.

I think people here are underrating him a bit as a live TV presenter. He did 90 minutes of live television for near enough every Saturday morning of the last ten years. Which makes him perfect for

A: Live television
B: Morning television

The only negative I have about James Martin were those awful Asda radio adverts, but that was down to a poor script, not him.

It's also worth nothing that despite Saturday Kitchen being a cookery format, he still did interviews from the dining table as well as the kitchen.

If it's a choice between Rani and Martin or Marvin Humes and his stage school delivery wife, I know who I'd watch and I'm not the target audience!

Agree - it would be great if they made him a regular chef instead of a presenter. I think he'd be more at home doing that.

There's normally room for this morning to fiddle with their format over the holidays, there maybe more of a food twist to the show on Fridays over the summer, you never know?
