Dermot is a good call and it's a role that would suit him well. Emma Willis too.


Would Dermot do it though? He was great when covered Phil for a week but full time, I'm not sure. Both him and Ben IMO can mix the light hearted stuff with more serious stuff, Ben having done GMB and cover This Morning would make him a suitable candidate but he'd have to give up Soccer Saturday and/or Tipping Point to do it full time.

Denise Robertsons funeral on Wednesday, not sure who to expect presenting the show?

If it clashes, they'll have to draft in some cover, as the regular hosts will probably be at the funeral. The funeral could have easily been arranged for the afternoon though, in which case no reason Holly and Phil can't present as usual.

It's a good 4 hours by train to Sunderland.

Unless they've arranged the funeral for the afternoon, and a private jet for Phil and Holly, they won't be able to make the funeral and present the show. I'm expecting the show to either be cancelled (I'm sure people in front and behind camera will go) or a couple of cover presenters; perhaps Ben Shephard and Amanda Holden? I think even Rylan will want to be there...

I was thinking that. Maybe a per-rec with Denise's best bits. They've got 28 years worth of material to be fair!
