There was something satisfying about hearing Fern again. I know I've said it many times but she was by far the best at filling Judy's shoes. There's always something about Holly that feels forced, I feel.

Yeah Fern is one of the best presenters they had, as was Denise. Think it would've been nice one day if she hosted with her husband Phil Vickery, there might have would be a bit of banter, like Eammon and Ruth have. I'm not a fan of holly, I even prefer Christine Bleakley than her, Phillip,is ok though, but he was best with Fern, maybe they should also return to the Jazz theme, and ditch Holly. Bring Fern back, to host with Phillip and Eammon and Ruth on Fridays and school hols, then jobs a good one.

I can remember them hosting together once or twice and it not really working out.

It was good to have Fern included in the calls, as she does sometimes get sidelined from the history of the show.

Very good of Eamonn to come in considering he still had a good few weeks left on his leave. I much prefer Eamonn and Ruth to Holly and Philip, so it was good to have them on today.

As Eamonn said, there is not likely to be another like Denise. I doubt anyone brought in these days would have the dedication to the job she had.

Really, I also think Coleen Nolan was great in her stint as a presenter, maybe they should give a few guest presenters a go for a week or something, think Coleen would go with Phillip or Ben Shephard, think Gloria Hunniford would also be great in a guest stint again, alongside Eammon, Dan Lobb would work ok too maybe alongside Christine Bleakley.

As Eamonn mentioned, Denise and him worked on another daytime tv show for the BBC before she was poached by Granada for TM. He felt that he had to be there.

Absolutely hate the suggestions of Gloria Hunniford guest presenting. 😂 I have to also say that I think Holly is brilliant on the hole on TM. Everyone forgets that the audience tuning into this morning aren't wanting a Victoria Derbyshire type programme. Otherwise she'd be terrible. For example she was great with the recent sorry about the autistic child trapped in the system, and is always good with the lighter segments.
Rylan was terrible yesterday, especially interviewing Emily Blunt.

Agree with the love for Fern, although not so much with the criticism of Holly. They are very different and on the whole Holly has fitted in much better than I thought she would - really didn't think she'd last this long.

I quite like Eamonn and Ruth but not sure I'd want to see them as the main presenters - think that would take a lot of the fun out of the show.

I absolute disagree about her as a presenter, much suited to Celebrity Juice or Play to the whistle, if they want to stay popular they need to the likes of Holly, Stephen Mulhern, etc, well away. Maybe now could be the time where they shake it up a bit, they want it to return to how it was mid early 2000s, but if Fern returns and replaces holly it would be quite good, maybe if it was - Phillip and Fern (Mon-Wed), Eamonn and Ruth (Thu/Fri) and in school Hols, Ben and Coleen (Mon/Tue),Eamonn and Ruth (Wed-Fri) or if Eamonn and Ruth are away Phil and Fern (Mon-Wed), Ben and Coleen or Cliff and Gloria (Thu-Fri).

I think it's time to accept that Fern has moved on, as good as she was. Did you see the last few episodes before she left? Her heart wasn't in it and the spark between her and Phil had gone. People seem to have short memories.
UBox, Whataday and Brekkie gave kudos

I'm not speaking for everybody, but I'm not saying she should come back. I agree that later on in her career, the pairing didn't have the magic as they did in the beef dunking era... Having said that, I simply don't think Holly was a sufficient enough replacement. Ruth, on the other hand, does a good job in my opinion.

I feel it's worked well if there's a husband/wife dynamic, be it genuine or artificial. Richard and Judy and Eammon and Ruth are good examples of genuine marriages, whereas Fern was often referred to as Phil's "TV wife". It puts me off a little when they refer to Holly in the same way, especially when she was probably watching Phil present the Broom Cupboard when she was a child.

I think the issue is that ITV have to attract younger audiences and Eamonn and Ruth skew older compared to Holly who skews younger.

The issue with Holly is that she's more light entertainment than topical, which as shown on numerous occasions, breaking news isn't her strong point. She's great at fluff and some of the parental segments.
